Do you see a bear ?

I stitched my bear again!!! I need to do the backstitch around the dress and the bear. Time is so long at my mom's house that I stitch a lot. Esteban takes long nap there: 3 hours so it is three hours of stitching.

Thanks for your comments! I also see my blog as a diary for my progress. But sometimes when you are tired , you think : do someone really care if I don't post my new progress today? There are plenty of blogs I check daily and I'm disappointed when I don't see a new post. I love seeing people new progress.I am a tru cross stitch addict.

I was supposed to show you my new stash today but I talk on the phone with the mother of twins who are at the same school of my kids ... until 1.25 am !!! It's funny because she called because her kids forgot their jackets at Emma's party and then we started talking about different stuffs: school, life, etc... When I used to see her at school, I never thought we could talk like that (she probably thought the same about me !!!) So if you don't see my new kit it's because of her but ar least you saw my new progress and the new bear ;)

Long day ...

Well, I didn't think to blog today then I saw that 16 persons already came to my blog today. so I figure out some people may care actually about my progress (about me also??? )




You won't believe it but I had stitched the bear's head and I had to frog it all because I miscounted. I hate that... you look at what you stitched and then , you realized you made a mistake. It looked like a real bear ... Anyway, cross stitch is about patience, right?

Chuy didn't go to work today. He's sick. It may be a stomach bug. We'll see how he is tomorrow...

Good news about the weather: it should be better on friday , even hot!!! Could it be true? Will we really wear summer clothes?

I really appreciate the few comments I get. I don't know in the long haul if we can still blog without getting comments? I like showing my progress and I'm pretty talktative but I still need to know some people do come... I'm just a human being I guess...

Plenty of time to stitch !

<Well blogger is not fix yet! We cannot do o lot of things but it still works... I found the way to put the title and I grab the colour code from an old message.

I just heard from Grey's anatomy: "women who do not have ovules anymore do cross stitch ! One writer on this show doesn't like stitching ...

Like I said, I have plenty of time to stitch as I stay at my mom in the afternoon. Actually it is quite boring but I resist the temptation to check internet (and the desire to get more stash )So here is my progress after this afternoon stitching:



I stitched the little girl's hand and I started her teddy bear. The hand looks weird. Maybe the backstitch is not very good? It looks better in picture than in reality. As you can see, I started wandering around: i stitched on the upper left some beige colours (One of Santa's finger). If I still have some thread, I prefer to stitch another part of the design.

>The weather is still bad: rain on and off. This morning I went to two discounted stores. In the first one I bought some notebooks for back to school (august 27 th) and in the second one I found those little japonese characters who move their heads with the solar energy. You can check them at www.flairplc.co.uk . They are called : SUNSHINE BUDDIES. I got them for 75% OFFregular price. I'll have to keep them away from Esteban's hands .They are supposed to be relaxing.

Anyway, I worked a little bit on my christmas stories last night. I didn't do much as i talked on the phone with my dear sister in law in Texas. Phone is included in our internet bill so we can talk as much as we want with 49 countries for free(USA and Germany are included but not yet Mexico) I'm currently working on the little dress but I feel progress are very slow. And it is such a small design , I should have finished it by now !!! lol



Today is raining a lot again. That's when you realized Emma got so lucky for her birthday. Pierre and Emma left this morning with my parents and I worry a little... It should rain everywhere in France today. Steb is cleaning his books with a wipe ... He also chose his tee shirt this morning. He didn't like the one I chose for him. When I tell you he's a strong willed boy !!! Today, and all week long actually, I have to go and stay at my parents house. They are so afraid someone will break in... Me, I'll prefer to stay home at do some house cleaning while the oldest kids are in vacations ...

Emma is 7 !!!

So yesterday it was Emma's birthday at the park. Her real birthday is TODAY!!!! We got lucky as it was a sunny day, even though it was not very warm. the kids were wearing summer clothes.Two days before, it was raining and today it rained in the morning. She really got lucky !!! We had more than 16 kids! I know it sounds like a lot of kids but it was at the park so you can invite much more kids than in a Mac donald's or at home. We loves also to make her birthday party as end of school party! So we always have some parents who stays with us and talk to each others while the kids have fun. It is also great for the new parents at school to meet others parents !!!

It is not a french habits to make parties at the park but us, we were used to do a lot of parties at the park in Texas (we used to have a big eggs hunt with their cousins and friends on easter day!!!) Parents who joined us really like the party. Actually it is very relaxing to do it outside. Next year, we'll make 3 pinatas. We need one for the adults, right? Here are some pictures:






This is a tee shirt one of my friends offered her. What is funny is that none of her daughters wanted to offer it to Emma. They said it is not as nice as a pet shop or a Diddl stuff ... Chuy was very please with that tee shirt of course !!! It is a tee shirt from the brand IKKS


Now with blogger I don't see the pictures like before. I only see the codes ... So we had 2 pinatas. As you can see, the kids were very excited to break those pinatas! Chuy made a star (which is traditional) and a Diddl (which is less traditional but so fashionable !!! girls were very happy to see it and they all recognize it was a diddl !!! )Emma got really spoiled with a lot of gifts: mainly petshops, Diddl writting pads, some books, pens, etc...

I can't believe my little girl is already seven ... Time flies. Seven is also the age Pierre was when he got sick with leukomia... Too young to be that sick, isn't it?

All I can say is that Pierre and Emma were supposed to go on vacations with my parents but a crazy guy backed up this morning to my dad's car and wrecked the hood ...

Emma's birthday was great: no rain !!! Lots of presents and lots of fun !!! I wanted to show you the pictures : I'll try later on or tomorrow! I hope they will fix blogger soon ...

Santa has 2 legs

I didn't stitch last night so this is my progress from wednesday. I need to work on the little girl dress now. I am still busy even though Pierre and Emma are in vacation.

Tomorrow we celebrate Emma's birthday at the park... So keep your fingers crossed as the weather is still uncertain !!! Rain ... No rain? There is a mother who is stressing out because she thinks she won't be on time to pick up her kids at 5.00pm. I told her to not worry, that I won't let them alone at the park. Then, a friend warn me that she is used to pick them up much later than she says (like 7 pm Well, we'll see but I hope it won't happen .... I don't want to have to stay at the park until very late, just for her kids ....

Chuy is still making the pinata and like always, he's late. He always keep everything for the last moment so .......... here he is working on the pinata and like last year, he's going to finish late to have it ready for saturday afternoon ... One is a Diddl's face (his first: he made a Nemo last yeat and a pineapple: for lack of time) The second should be a very traditional design: a star ! I have to admit that his Nemo was great and it was sad to have it broken chuy is very talented but he never starts when he should ...

Still waiting for summer ...

I'm almost done with Santa's second leg! It goes fast when you have time to stitch! Last night I mostly checked internet but I had time to stitch a little bit at school yesterday. I'm going to stitch right now but I wanted to show you my progress first!

Tomorrow is the last day of school for Pierre and Emma. Emma is going to celebrate her birthday with her schoolmates so today, I went to the store to get candies, candles and two cakes! When I tell you everything is on sale in france during that time: I even got my laundry soap on sale! Unbelievable, isn't it? Diapers were on sale too but I only got pull-up ones as I am planning on starting potting training very soon !!! Does it work with a stubborn boy???

YEAH !

I'm officially on vacation !!! Finally. It's nice the school year ended because today and yesterday, kids just played or watched a dvd. Today , they watched Nanny Mc Phee. I just love this story but few were interested and most prefered to play.

I got 5 bouquets of flowers, a tray and a box of cookies. Most of the flowers were roses: I love roses !!! It's so nice from the parents who gave something as I am just a substitute teacher and not their regular teacher. I really appreciate that.

Tomorrow, I hope the kids won't wake up too early as I'd like to sleep a little longer. No more violin, music class and drawing class !!! Pierre and emma still have class on thusday and esteban will go to the daycare on friday. (well, if he's better: tonight he had temperature ... )

a foot? I made huge progress as my design has now the little girl's foot and her other leg. I even started the girl's dress and Stanta's other leg. My students watched a dvd this afternoon so I stitched a little bit during the class (a first). They looked at me with a strange eye! The dress has whole stitches and half stitches. (some with 3 strands but I chose to do only 2 ). Chuy does see a foot, so you should too !!!

Tomorrow is my last day at school. It's always sad to leave a school: I always get attached to the kids and my co workers. My co worker offered me a fountain pen with the character: the little prince. Our play was about that character. I was really touched by that gift. A little girl offered me a coffee set: cookie with a coffee taste, rare coffee and coffee candies. I don't drink coffee but it's also so nice to get a gift. Chuy will eat and drink the coffee.

Today Pierre had his visit to the kinesiologist today. It's amazing how he says he doesn't know why we go there. It is like if he doesn't realize he has trouble speaking well (with good sentences I mean) She says he probably realize it but it is hard to accept and he prefers to pretend everything is fine. She gave him more exercice, some massages for his back and in september, she will do physical therapy to improve his motor skills. She wants to try to improve his self confidence. At the end, he told her he wants to be brave. Did I tell you that beside his leukomia, Pierre almost died at birth? He actually got a stroke , probably during pregnancy, lacked of oxygen at birth (he swallowed the mecomium). It is a lot for one little boy I think.........

Talking about his leukomia, we received a letter that was asking us to participate to a study about the effect of the chimio on children in order to measure better the medecine in the future. I'd like to have the results but we never get any results ... I know that after the chimio, the liver is full of chemicals.... that's the price to pay I guess ...

Happy about my progress

I'm happy about my Santa !!! From far, it looks gorgeous and the reds are so lively! I'm stitching the little girl. At the bottom, there are her legs , in the middle, it's her dress and I'll keep her head for later. I have one combined colors in the legs so it's fine for now. I wish you could see the colors as I see them. The scan is darker than the actual colors.

It's the first sunday in months that I don't have to work !!! Esteban is taking his nap so I'm going to stitch !!! YEAH !!!!!!!!! Two more days and it's VACATIONS !!!!!

Thanks too all who went to see chiloe's city : I have now 9 persons living there . If it's full of cross stitchers, I'll move in right away. Imagine what paradise it should be !!! You can organize stitching night (or week end) ,have great needlestores!!! Maybe it won't be as enjoyable for the spouses but for us !!!

Life is slow at school: we are all tired : kids and teachers. We are all waiting for the vacations I work tomorrow: I hate working on saturday mornings, especially on sale days ! What are we going to do tomorrow??? good question! In old time, we used to stop at the end of june. What's the purpose on going until the begining of july???

I did some green last night and more red. Today, I got my World of cross stitching (issue 127) Well, there is nothing I could stitch from that issue. When I had stopped my subscription, I checked blogs and wanted so much to stitch patterns from those missed issues. But since I got my new subscription, there is maybe only 2 or 3 patterns I really want to stitch ... what a pain ....

Today, the teacher I substitute for surprised the kids with a little snack. And she surprised ME with with a flower plant !!! What a great lady because I only do my job after all ;-) There were something very funny on the flower tag: "for decoration only - do not consume" ! I'm glad it is written in 4 languages : like that, we are sure no french, english , german or dutch people are going to die after eating a flower leaf !!!
