Beach day !!!

The hot weather is finally here (32°C) so this morning we headed to the beach. It was Esteban's first time because the last time we went there, he was too young to remember. Did I mention we live 10 to 15 minutes to the beach? We just need a great weather more often. I watched the forecast and tomorrow, we go back to our old grey weather - they say it's because of the bad weather above Great Britain ... (the kids would like to go back to the beach of course ) Here are some pictures of the fun:

About the white

When I decided to add some halfstitches in white, I first took a thread from my Christmas stories because it was convenient: the kit was still on my desk. Last night I took my DMC thread and to my surprise, the DMC thread is much whiter than the Dimensions NO I'm not going to frog the white in the top of her shirt. It's going to stay that way I haven't had time to take the picture of the two pieces together; maybe tomorrow

Summer is finally here !

My little angel is getting a dress in half cross stitches There are a lot of them so you are going to think that I'm a fast stitcher Have you noticed I stitch most of the backstitches on her neck and her arms? The half cross stitches I added in white don't really stand up . Are they worth it? I want to believe they will make the difference at the end. It's my first time stitching on hand dye fabric so I'm learning by doing all the problems that can show up. You see, I thought: if I take a blue sky color for my fabric, I won't have to stitch the background. That was a great idea but I didn't think the white will look so mat. Another amazing stuff: what I stitched so far on the little girl is the same height of my finished Christmas stories. Tomorrow, I'll try to take a picture of both pieces near each other. You will see: it's hard to believe

Today was the last official day for the sales. I decided to check a craft store I almost never visit because if they have a lot of kits, they are also very expensive ... Too expensive for me. They don't have a lot of charts. I checked the sale bin first and I found 3 Diane Graebner charts. I always like those charts but never got any. Well today was the opportunity So I got waiting and recess. I may stitch them on some small silkweaver fabrics. I paid each chart 4 Euros. Blue

Yesterday I got my new issue of the World of cross
stitching. I like the baby Newton. I could stitch it for a new baby. The charts seemed more interesting when my subscription had stopped but I always love their christmas issue so I hope I won't be diasppointed at that time of the year.

Beautiful day

Yesterday, I did finish her hair, I've already started her dress and I stitched some blue on her left wing. Some of you think I stitch very fast; actually that's the pattern that makes you think that way You see, for that particular design, it's a little bit like a Lanarte chart: it's very clear and for now has few color changes. I even added the white I was telling you about yesterday. You can't really tell on the scan. Now I'm feeling like I'm adding half stitches to help creating artistic effects On that piece, the backstitches are really going to be very important. Soon I will be able to do it on her neck and on the top of her dress.

The mail carrier brought a nice envelope today: the
kind stash lover adores : a new kit !!! I bought No vacancy by Lanarte on ebay. I just couldn't resist the hand dye fabric which make all the difference on that pattern. I don't know when I'll stitch it but like all the Lanarte's fans, I won't resist too long My stash is growing bur I don't mind as I still like most of the patterns I got some years ago

Hair

I'm feeling sleepy this morning . Once again I went to bed very late and I'm tired this morning. I'm paying the price for wanted to finish the little girl's hair ... Here is a pic of last night stitching session. She will look great when she will have a head full of hair. I'm still please with what I'm seeing and I don't think it will end up as an UFO because I love so much the soft tone colors the pattern has. (even though I'm going to add white where there are no stitches on the original white fabric. I think it's worth it to add white even though it's more work !!! )

Now a news report live from Pottyland: for the first time this morning, Esteban did a little pee in his underwear, stopped and came to tell me: "mommy peepee" !!! Fell like we won a million bucks I don't know if it's the beginning of something but it's a little reward from all the past days cleaning up after him !

Here is a proof that boy thinks he's more than 2 years old: he's pretending to play with the gameboy (he actually turns on and off the gameboy) If you think you are seeing a mexican flag in the back; you are The name of the post should be: mexican proud !!!! Chuy put the flag behind him while I was getting ready to get the picture I think it starts to miss Mexico a little bit

Magazines day !

I don't know if you remember but beside the World of cross stitching I also have a subscription to the Cross stitcher. It costs a lot of money to have it ship in France. One of my friend is married with an english guy so the mags arrive at her mother in law's adress and I have to wait until the lady comes to France or my friend goes to england. I don't mind the wait: I have plenty of stash to fill my needs for cross stitching for years to come ..... I like the charts but I also enjoy the articles in the english mags. French magazines are so boring .... De fil en aiguille has nice charts but the articles are not that interesting.

I finished the little girl's face last night: she's so pretty. I like the delicate details on her face. She's also so realistic and by now, you know I'm attracted to this kind of designs She will look even better tonight when she has hair

Since I've started my blog six months ago, I succeeded to finish 3 pieces: Winnie and Lumpy from Royal Paris, Birdhouse cage from Lanarte and Christmas stories from Dimensions. It's a great achievment as I used to be someone who will start something then will get bored after having stitched the main part of the pattern ... (check my UFO to understand what I'm talking about ) I took a picture of the three pieces together for you to see their different sizes.
