Flowers.

Nope, my husband didn't offer me flowers (he almost never does actually ) but I did work on the flower garland last night. It's not going be longer than what you see on the picture. The design is now too big to fit on my scanner screen. I could take a photo with my camera but I can't really take good close up picture with it. I'll try once in a while in order to show a full image of my progress.

If you look at the ticker, you saw Chuy's family arrives in 6 days So yesterday it was shopping day: we went to check for a new furniture for the entrance. I found the one I wanted and will get it this morning. We bought 2 foldable stool chairs and we are going to get 2 foldable chairs as well. It's hard to imagine 9 extras people in this small apartment ... I hope everybody will have a seat During my shopping spree , I also bought 2 pillow covers for my ugly pillows in my living room. They are now covered with a nice chocolate color and are washable - which was not possible with the pillows I have. I should change also my sofa as it got a hole at one edge. Of course, it happened on Chuy's side because my stitching side is still perfect I guess the fabric on the sofa was too thin as I didn't pay a lot of money for it ... Anyway, even though it's embarassing it will stay that way as I can't afford a new sofa right now and sofa covers are very expensive too... After we would have mounted the furniture (which is always very interesting in this household ... ) I will have to continue reorganizing the whole appartment in the hope to have less piles and a mess free desk !!!

In july, I bought a very bedding during the sale time but they didn't have the pillow cases. I bought it thinking I will find some pillow cases that could match a little bit the bedding. But it did not happen. Yesterday, as I was cruisisng the furniture store, I saw MY bedding on display! I couldn't believe it !!! So I rushed to find a sale person (which is sometimes mission impossible in this kind of stores ...) to check if they actually sell beddings. The guy told me they do and I searched all their beddings: and I DID find my matching pillow cases !!! YEAH!!! What are the odds for something like that to happen? Same bedding in 2 different stores !!! Maybe it was my lucky day and I should have played the lotery?

I fell in love !!!

It happened a few days ago. I couldn't help it: it was love at first sight! I know, I know what you all think: I'm married, have 3 kids and should be reasonable but when you see perfection, what can you do? Here is the object of my new love :

Too small !

Yes, my scanner is now too small to hold the whole fabric so from now on, you will see only the left part: the flower garland I am working on. I'm trying to do the backstitch along the way. Backstitches is not my favorite so I better not leave it to the end ... We all know now that it won't be finished in 8 days I'll see if I can stitch in the afternoon. i still need a lot of time to clean up the apartment. I reorganize everything so it takes time ... I even took some measures to buy a couple of small furnitures to be able to put all my papers. Chuy is not working tomorrow so we'll see what we find. It's too bad IKEA is not open yet !!! It should open in my town in 2009 (2010 if we are not lucky )

Yesterday, kids didn't have school. The wednesday activities haven't started yet but Pierre had speech therapy. I told the therapist about Pierre's memory problems. He is not able to repeat a sentence right after I said it for example so school is very hard for him. I think it's from the perinatal stroke (or right after birth - it's hard to know actually) . As a parent, you feel your child has been cheated from the life he could have had ... Like if he didn't have enough to deal with the learning problems, he had to have leukomia ..... The therapist advised me to do memory games with him and to put some objets in a box, take 2 out and ask him to draw what is missing. I'll try to do that everyday while I don't work. It's hard with Pierre because he has trouble accepting he has to work more than a regular child, more than his sister for example ... Emma comes back from school and she already knows all the words she has to learn. Pierre sees that and he feels it's not fair.


Tomorrow, we'll go to check for a brand new car. That will be our first big investment in France. The car we have is too small for 3 kids. So we have that:

It's a Logan MCV (a station wagon. We want it with 7 places in order to be able to bring our children friends along once in a while !!!) The only problem with this car is the waiting list to get one. Because it is a low cost car (10 000 Euros for a station wagon) , Renault decided to limit the numbers of cars available on the market. So your order it and then you wait and wait a long time but I think the prices is worth the wait !!!

I did the backstitch !!!

You got to enlarge the picture to see the true beauty of my backstitches I finished the arrows and her dress (well, not the white in her dress it is a LOT of white ) I still need to finish the backstitch on the flowers. I still need to work on the flower garland !!! Well, enjoy the picture!

Thirty minutes ago, I saw a painter close to my balcony so I rushed to close the mini blinds. Not because the view was not good: it was a cute and sexy young painter! but Chuy was seated next to me Well, don't get too excited, what followed kill all the infatuation that could have emerged! The guy knocked at our window: it was probably love at first sight so I sent Chuy to check what the guy wanted . He said" Do you want me to wash your outside window? My boss sent me to wash them" Hum, no, dude, I am a woman, that means I am genetically programed to do all the house chores but thanks anyway ! Come on, he REALLY thought I will say NO ?

I think I made great progress on trying to fill in the blank in the little boy's outfit. I even started the arrows behind him. Well, they will look like arrows when I would have done the backstitching. I even managed to finish up all the stitches at the bottom of the little girl's dress. She also need some backstitches so it can look like a real dress. I'm quite happy with myself today because the main design is done quickly. I looked at the wings yesterday and I was wondering if they will take as much time as I think or if it will go faster than I think ... You know sometimes when you don't like something, you make a big thing of a little thing ...

Marie reminded me that today we will be able to see the Lanarte new fall collection !!! From the preview I saw, some design are just gorgeous ! The only thing I don't like with lanarte, it's their prices

They haven't called me yet ... I hate to have to wait because I feel I cannot really start something that take time... But anyway, teachers don't sick on their first day of school, right? So I think I have plenty of time to do some cleaning

He has feet !

I managed some good hours of stitching yesterday. I was able to stitch his feet, do the backstitch on some flowers, on his back and sleeve. I think I stitched 50% of the pattern now! Yeah !!! I am pretty sure the wings are going take forever though ... I still need to fill in some small parts I left in the little boy outfit so I am still working on that. Then I will stitch the flower garland to finish by the not fun wings .... You're right Little grey cat, if I look back, we can see I made a lot of progress in a week. I think I, I am more focused on daily progress as I wanted to finish for september 14 th in order for Chuy's family to take it with them in Texas. My goal for today will be to finish the boy's outfit completly! And the little girl dress as I left some details for the end too ...

Pierre and Emma left this afternoon for a sleep over at my mom so they prepared their pj's for the night and a change of clothes. Later, my mom called me to tell me something and I hear: "have you cut off the tag?" And my mom explains me that Emma was wearing a tee shirt that still had the tag on it. " A tee shirt! which tee shirt? " She left with a dress! She even insisted on wearing a dress ! And my mom explains me that she was riding her bicycle. So I ask: "with what is she wearing her tee shirt? " She replies: " a skirt" "A skirt! which skirt? " She just turned 7, I don't want to imagine how it's going to be when she will be a teenager

More progress ...

I feel I'm slow in my progress but I'm progresssing ! I'm trying to stitch the flowers and I'm almost done with them but they do need backstitching. Soon the whole piece won't fit in my scaner. I guess that's a good sign, isn't it? The pleasure of stitching that piece came back. (we'll see what I'll say when I'll stitch the wings ... )

Today it's saturday so we can rest. I don't know for the kids but it's hard for me to adjust for those early get up I started setting off the alarm clock at 7.30 but it's too late. So I decided 7.10 will be a better option but it's still hard to find the energy to get off the bed

Silkweaver has a back to school sale and I've been a good girl: I didn't buy ANYTHING I'll wait for my FOTM fabrics - it still a cheaper option even though I was very tempted to indulge and get 3 more beautiful fabrics: just for the fun of it
