A swap and a progress.

In november, I signed up for a christmas book exchange on Emmyne's blog. She organized a great swap !!! This is what I got for Steb and Emma from Juliette (but we shared with Pierre as he complained right away: but why don't I have something me too? 12 years old ... you'll think he passed this stage: why him and not me ... ) Juliette showed more pictures on her blog.

Steb and Emma were very excited to open some presents:

Pierre opened the night before christmas (a book I was planning on buying !) You did a great job choosing the books Juliette!!!
Emma opened an activity book and Steb a little bear book. Juliette didn't know it but she sent Steb his favorite chocolate: chocolate lollipops. And she made two handmade ornament, including one she cross stitched !!!

I sent some christmas books to Picokoa and her sons: I shamelessly stole the pictures from her blog because with the move, I forgot to take pictures ... J'espère que tu ne m'en voudras pas I had a lot of fun wrapping those books for her sons, finding the matching sticker with the wrapping paper. I found a great book for her little one: an odor book with christmas fragance. I got the same one for Steb but haven't found it yet ... Julie was sweet enough not to get mad at me as I was very late at sending her package. Merci Julie et encore une fois, désolée pour ce grand retard.

Google.fr is having a serie of holiday pictures:

Yesterday, Steb didn't take a nap, that's why his day ended up this way :

And to finish, my fuchsia:

Pictures loaded !!!

I took some pictures for you this morning. First, the house we moved in.

We live in the left one. We have a yard in the shape of a L. Kids are so excited !!! My brother, who owns an internet store called Oogarden.com, sent us a summer table and 6 chairs for Christmas Chuy is ready for his barbecues !!!

The right one is not rented yet. At the left of the entrance door, we have the kitchen; above it, is Emma and Steb's bedroom and the bathroom to the left. And this is a view of my outside christmas decoration. I don't have a lot as we moved here on december 1 st.

Yesterday, my friend Carole came for a visit and look at what she brought with her:

10 issues of the Cross Stitcher (the UK magazines) My subscription used to arrive to her mother in law's house in England. It was a little weird to get them after almost a year. I even got the 2008 calendar She's going to England for the holidays so I asked her to buy me the latest issues of the World of Cross Stitching and the Cross Stitcher. I don't want a new subscription but one or two mags will be fun !!! (not that I don't have anything to read or stitch ... )

Chuy worked on his nativity on friday night. We got some green from the park after school and Chuy quickly added them to his nativity. It was great except after two hours when I noticed our ceiling was full of ... bugs I guess they were in the green and got attracted by the light. Anyway, Chuy took everything away and put the greens outside. He put it back this morning and no bugs on my ceiling. So here is the new nativity (greener than before) and some details:
I worked on my fuchsia last night. I just started a flower full of oranges and yellows! A stitcher dream !!!
Thanks for your lovely comments. My blog visits are really down since I was out of internet ... C'est la vie ...

I'm a survivor !!!

I survived 18 days without internet !!! It is soooooooo sad to be that addicted . A technician came to my home to check if something was wrong in the house. Actually the problem came from the line so it saved me some money ( if the problem was here, I should have paid for the technician visit.)

Maybe you want to see my fuchsia? I actually finished the green leaf last night (click to enlarge). I won't pretend I had fun stitching some green but Lanarte makes it so nice thanks to their clear and easy to read charts.

Our christmas tree is ready for Santa:

Chuy has his own WIP: his nativity. Today, we went to a park to get some fresh greens so I'll post another picture tomorrow of his greener nativity. The rare people we met probably thought we were crazy to bring the kids to the park with the so cold temperature

Pierre played in a school play. He was not an actor but he played some music. It was based on an african legend. I know the picture sucks but I was placed far away from the stage ... I went there with Emma and Steb because Chuy was working in the afternoon shift. The play was really nice. Here my actor, very concentrated (he was a little nervous.) :

I warned you the picture was very bad !!!

Wanna see my new computer place? This is from where I'm chatting with you right now I bought a new desk and gave the old one to Pierre (it was too big to fit in my little corner.)

We got a little problem at Pierre's school last week. During the play rehearsal, a boy decided to play with Pierre's neck. He "played" so nicely that he left a mark:
I was not happy about it and called the school. I hope it is all take care of now. I understand the boy was just fooling around but like I said to the counselor, Pierre didn't go through 2 years and a half of chemio to stupidly die because a boy was "just fooling around ... and pressed too hard around my son's neck..."

Now that I'm back in blogland, I will be able to check your blogs again. I really missed seeing all your nice projects and readng about your life. Today was the last day of school for Steb and Emma and Pierre will be off tomorrow at 10.15. He usually finishes at noon but his sport teacher is absent tomorrow ( we won't complain, right? ) I'll post more pictures tomorrow !!!

Sad ...

Yes, I'm feeling sad because my internet provider tells me my internet line has been created since tuesday but I still don't have internet at home ... So I wrote them back telling them it is not working and they give me advice like: check your connections, change ALL your wires , open the phone plug and take something out , and so on ... Soon, they are going to tell me: " take a computer science class and we'll be able to work with you " ... So I don't know when I'll get my connection back and that makes me very sad. I checked a couple of blogs this afternoon and I'm sad I cannot check on you everyday like before ....

Chuy built my new computer desk ( lots of fun ... ) and my new chair. I made my grand appearance in the free woman's world as my dishwasher is working !!! YEAH !!!!!!!!!!!!

Esteban is not using diapers at night anymore !!! He started having cleaned diapers before the move but we decided to wait until after the move to see if he'll continue and he does ! let's hope he continues

My Christmas shopping is mainly done. Chuy is shopping right now and I'm expecting the worse as he always buys at the last minutes and gets something because he feels he has to get me something ... In the past, I got a bad "best mom" diploma , old lady style earrings (white pearls), a gold necklace too small for an adult , and so on ... We'll see what he got this year ...

Pierre is going to play in a show with his school on tuesday and wednesday night. We got only 3 tickets per family and I don't know how I'm going to be able to pick him up on wedneday as Chuy is working in the afternoon shift and come back at 9.30 pm.
The show at the hospital Christmas party was soooooooooo boring. A story teller and a singer tried to entertain the kids and their parents but they only managed to bore everybody to death ... You could hear people talking, see kids playing and chairs getting empty ... Everybody was so happy when she said " and this is my last story" Then, it was time to choose a gift: Steb got a big Lego medieval style (that I chose - and he loves it !!! ), Emma chose a doll (because she probably don't have enough ... ) and Pierre chose a boarding game (he's very happy too !) But who won't be happy with early christmas gifts?

My fuchsia: I'm now stitching a green leaf but it's still a great pleasure to stitch those great colors.

14 days and still trying to survive without the internet ... Thanks for your nice supporting messages: I miss you all !!!

Quick update !!!

Hello the blogging world. I'm at my parents's house for a short message.

The move went fine and we are now in the house. We love it but we still live among boxes as we've been very busy making sure the appartment is ready for tomorrow. (we want to make sure we'll get our deposit back: 2 months of rent.) I still don't have internet at home and I miss it very very much. I feel disconnected from the world !!! My computer is not even out of its box. Pierre got my former desk in his room and we bought a smaller one for the living room. (not mounted yet: seems loke we want to keep the joy of mounting furniture for later !!! lol ) My dishwasher has been delivered this morning: yep, I'm almost a free woman: i haven't tried it yet.

Emmyne: I don't forget the swap but forgot to print her address. I'm going to ship tomorrow (colissimo)

This afternoon, we are going to the hospital christmas party. Even the brother and sister can choose a gift so everybody is very excited !!!

See you soon ( I hope !!! ) for more news !!!
