A lovely gift

Sometimes when life is just plain routine, a little sunshine is what you need to brighten the whole day and make you see life in a different angle. You know lately life has been a little on the down road: Chuy still has his up and down moments. Sometimes I feel powerless even though I try to support him the best than I can ... So yesterday when I went to check my mailbox and saw a yellow envelope, I immediatly thought : I didn't order anything or did I ? ( thinking am I getting insane? ) So I opened it and found the loveliest card from Sharon and a beautiful gift !!! I was speechless and very moved by such a lovely gesture from Sharon. I really want to thank you Sharon. It made me so happy. It's very nice of you to have thought of me in such a difficult time. Thank you very much.

Wow! Wow!

Look at what I got in the mail today: I was shocked when I went to the mail box to see a big enveloppe. First I thought: it's for my father! He and I share an Ebay account and often he forgets to change the address. But, no, it was for me !!! The enveloppe was thick !!! Look:
Even though I knew Marita was going to send me the chart from her advent calendar, I didn't expect a thich enveloppe. I fell in love with the nativity on her Dimensions calendar and plan to stitch it and frame it. Marita generously offered to give it to me but she never mentioned she will add some goodies: a Winnie the pooh leaflet, a book (you knew you will make me very happy with an english book !!! ); some candies for the kiddos ( I'm secretly hoping Pierre won't want his to steal them, I mean, to not waste them !!! ) and a cute little card. Thank you very much Marita !!! You are a great friend and you brightened my day !!!

We decided not to send Pierre to the speech therapist on wednesday. We prefer to wait for 7 days to make sure she's fine. Pierre is not the luckiest boy when it comes to life threatening illenesses so it's better not to take any risks. In my opinion, she should cancel all her appoitment for the week as she works with small children. We are also very concerned for Chuy's family in Mexico. A four year old just died two days ago with a high fever and they don't know if it 's from the swine flu. My father in law is going to turn 96 years in june and his health has been bad for some years now. They live in a small town 8 hours from Mexico city but there are already some cases in Guadalajara, 2 hours from their town ... I'm thinking about buying and shipping them some masks from here as the masks we can see on TV don't really seem to be the one needed ... I may ask our doctor if he can prescribe us some Tamiflu to ship to them as well.

I'm having so much fun with my snowman !!! He's progressing very well ! I'm even having a blast with the back stitch!
While Marita was looking for a winter jacket this week end, I checked the kids summer clothes in order to see which ones still fit and which ones we could try to sell soon. It's raining today so we are going to forget about summer clothes for the week I guess I also decided it was time to do something with the boxes we still have in the living room. I bought four bins and I'm going to sort everything I have in those boxes. I guess we can say I'm spring cleaning

Someone is celebrating a brithday day: guess who !!!

Gift, awards, progress

Today was a happy mail day for me ! (don't you think it should have an official happy mail day where we'll send each other a goodie? That will be a great idea, don't you think so? ) Well, I won Lady of the mist on Laural's blog !!! And look at what I got: not only she sent me the chart but she also added a very nice solo by Silkweaver Could she have a clue that I have an addiction not only for Santa but also for the Silkweaver fabbies? Thank you very much dear Laural, thank you for brightening my day with your special package

Sally and Daniela gave me this award (thank you for thinking about me !!! ):

Here's a description of this special friends award: These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbon's of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these kind writers. When you pass the award along please include these guidelines. Choose eight friends to share this with. (this is a very hard thing to do actually ... )

So the award goes to
Lauralness ,Marita ,Andie, Yvonne , Debijeanm , Carolyn NC , Pumpkin and Jean .

Meari gave me this award (thank you dear Meari !!! ):
A lot of you are creative persons so it's really hard to choose only 7 persons ... And the award goes to ( I feel I'm at the Oscars ) Wendy ( a very creative lady !!!), Daffycat (who create nice charts), tkdquintmom , Ginnie , barbibouille , Srinity , and Doris .

Now, you know what you have to do ladies: spread the joooooooooooooooy !!!

I couldn't resist showing you my latest progress. I guess I'm going to go back to blog everyday now as I cannot resist showing you my daily progress. Thanks Kathryn for the advice for the shading around the characters and objects ; I'm going to try that on a bright day but it really makes me nervous as I never did such a thing ...
No exercise for me today ... My body deserves a rest ... but I can always train my hands stitching, right?

An unexpected gift

Look how my mailbox was generous yesterday !!! She brought me a yellow enveloppe from Canada. Pumpkin had asked my new address and I had given it to her but asked her to not play with it. Well, she didn't listen and send me these goodies to thank me for a gift I had sent her a while ago. This is a Sue Hillis chart that I always love. I am in love with Santa so stitching his working clothes is going to be fun !!! (I love the charm: the keys to the toys storage rooms )
She also sent a little Mary Engelbreit kit that I love. Isn't it cute? I love M. engelbreit.
And she joined a very nice pink scarf (for breast cancer ) Emma may steal it to protect her violin and spread the news about breast cancer research and charity.
Thank you very much Cathey. I really love these gifts. You made my day and I can't wait to stitch these patterns

Yesterday morning, Steb was yawning like a very tired boy so I was sure he will sleep during nap time but he had more fun playing with his sister's flashlight so at 5 pm, someone had very heavy eyelids ...
I let him sleep for an hour but he was hard to wake up ...

My fuchsia? What can I say? Boredom? Get me out of here? Drowned in high greens? I am left with all the watercolors effect now: lots of greens but even more light pink (that I barely see but are necessary for the watercolor effect ... )
So I finished an orange petal that was between two of my working copies. I added the light pink on the left but you have to believe me as it's barely visible on the pic. Click to enlarge !!!
Here you can see, I finished the green leaf, and the light pink that is around and this time you can see the light pink that is barely visible but is E V E R Y W H E R E ... Click to enlarge !!!
So, if I don't throw it out of the window tonight, you may see more progress tomorrow
