Thursday already? Wanna see stash? lol

If you want to see a beautiful finish, go to Yvonne's blog to see her beautiful piece. I think she made the perfect match between a design and a fabric. What do you think?

I wanted to blog yesterday but didn't find time last night. It doesn't help that lately I've been having lots of ups and downs (more downs than ups actually) I hate feeling that way and I hope it won't last too long ... Pierre got sick and had to stay home two days. Today he went back but complained he had a headache. With him, I don't know if it takes advantage of kind of being sick to not go to school and do anything or if he's really not feeling well. Also, low temperature worries me as that's the way his leukemia started. If he continues he will get a blood test but I learned not a long time ago that a blood test dooesn't necessilarly show something. He's also teething: who would have thought a 12 y.o. will be teething? Not one, not two but three molars are piercing which causes him pain (he's also very sensitive to pain).

I was checking Ebay last week and found some Lanarte kits that were on the "buy it now" list. I couldn't resist when I saw this rare kit:
This wreath is OOP and very hard to find and usually goes up to 45$ - 50$ (or more) . And I was able to buy it for a very reasonnable price. The fabric is evenweave (my favorite) so I won't have to change it !!!

Then I saw that one:
I hesitated but it's another OOP hard to find kit that I have hardly seen on Ebay (or it was illegal copies). It also has an evenweave fabric to please me !!! Will you believe that I sent my check right away but forgot to add the shipping price The seller sent me an email saying : " thank you for your fast payment, it's too bad you didn't add the shipping!" What an embarrassment .... She had sent the kits anyway. (she's lucky I'm an honest person, right? I sent her another chack the same day ) I'm so happy with my purchase and may stitch the wreath (I love the happy colors) as soon as the squirrel is finished.

The squirrel? Here it is:
I think I almost completed the squirrel itself but it's not close to be all finished as the whole piece is stitched. I usually stitch pieces where there is always some kind of unstitched parts. Not this time (I guess it makes me feel the pain of the HAED stitchers )

Tomorrow, Steb goes to the zoo with his school. I tried to volunteer to go with them but all the spots were already taken . I hope everything is going to be fine ...

By the way, all images are clickable

Sunday - 3 weeks until kids vacations

Do you have trouble coming to my wonderful blog lately? Maybe Internet Explorer is the problem. Cindy F couldn't come to the blog until she tried with Firefox. I use Google Chrome (I won't see any videos with IE because I chose to keep IE6 to use with blogger) and I like it so far so you may try another web browser and see if it works better.

I thought I was a world champion with Chuy's weird stuff but it appears I am only a runner up after all! (make me feel better in a way ! ) Check Kathryn's blog: her husband has an interesting collection ( but I think it's better to avoid certain rooms at night !!!

On saturday, it was the school annual carnival. It started by the kids choir where Emma sang:
Esteban also sang a song with his classmates. It was about hikers comeing back from the moutain (they had to wear sunglasses, hat, short, backpack)
My favorite picture of him that day (yes, he was wearing his dad hat) :

Emma danced the french can-can and really enjoyed herself !!!

She even tortured her body:

After the show, the dames started and Steb was very happy to win something to blow bubble. He had a lot of fun !!!

And you won't believe it: I won this basket full of organic and fair trade goodies. I had to guess the weight of the basket. The lady who was carrying the basket kind of helped me win it as my first three guesses were a little but wrong

I thought: I'm going to try filming a little bit of the show with my camera to show you my babes. Well, I took a vertical picture right before and forgot to turn the camera so if someone knows how to turn the whole thing , I'll be very grateful ! Thanks. Anyway, here they are (watch out for your neck !!!

My squirrel? Here it is after a week of stitching:

I think I won another world competition !!!

Ohmommy challenged us to show what strange stuffs our cave men husbands brought home (but first, you really need to see what she's going to have in her living room wall !!! ). But I feel, I'm going to win the world's competition once again ....

Because for me it's this bludgeon and I'm not kidding (actually I don't even know the real name of that thing ... )
Detail (wonderful wood reproduction of the real thing ):
I couldn't believe it when it brought it home.
This is how the conversation went:
I asked: "what did you buy this hiddeous thing?"
Chuy: "I didn't buy it, the guy gave it to me!"
Me " Of course, he GAVE it you, he must have been so happy to get rid of it ! But why in the world did you take it? "
Chuy: "well, I like it !"
Well, I like hot guys but I don't bring them home ...

So Madame Ohmommy, do we have a winner here or should I pack the bludgeon and ship it to you to display next to the barracuda? You may even start a museum

Now I hurt my knee bringing it from the basement where the hiddeous thing went back right after our photo session !!! Don't tell Chuy: I didn't mention to him that the whole internet will think he's weird

And for those who want to make sure, Sid is really gone and has evolved in a squirrel, here is a pic :

You may want to go over Virpy's blog who just got a baby boy !!! Congratulations Virpy !!!!

Twins?

Do you see any ressemblance? Am I the only one who notice a striking similarity between Sid and my squirrel in progress?

But I already progressed and soon, it will be a real squirrel :

Mother's day !!!

It's mother's day here and I think I won the contest of the ugliest gift ever received for mother's day ( and I'm talking about the world competition here people !!!! ) I didn't win alone and I want to thank the substitute teacher from hell for her help! Whitout her, nothing would have been possible and I wouldn't know the joy of having to decided where to put this horror masterchief ! I have to admit that the dark color is what I need to brighten my day, every single day and the newspaper sheets does give a modern art look to this horror masterchief. Thanks again substitute teacher from hell! By the way, you won't be surprised if I skip your end of the year gift, right? Do you want to see this horror masterchief?

What it is? It's a canvas where there is newspaper and what is supposed to be fruits are glued.

Steb's teacher did a little better. She made a card and she took a picture with a poem on the side. She managed to have Steb looking at her He's not smiling but he looks at the camera!

Chuy got me a DS game so I can do my Beyonce on my sofa and pretend I understand something at rhythm !!!

We got a winner from my last post: Lori guessed it right (she was the only player !!!) : Obama came to my city and we were all only allowed to see him on TV !!! Chuy wanted to go to see him but he understood he was mission impossible. Even the people who greeted him were people who had been selected ...

This sign was all over town:

Some pics of Obama's arrival:

Today, after a lunch at the restaurant with my parents, we went to one of the english military camp. WWII collectors organized that kind of camps every year. My dad is a WWII collector and he's friend with his people.

I probably have the weirdest husband in the world: he said "hi" to an english veteran in french !

I think it was my opportunity to ask if what we say about scottish is true ... Did I? Didn't I?

And yes, in the middle of all this excitement, I did stitch a little (I know it does look like the character in Ice age it's scary, isn't it? It's even hard to imagine it's going to be a cute squirrel !!! ):
