When will it end?

Still packing, still feeling I'm moving as fast as a snail ... Maybe we have too many books, maybe I have too many of everything. My living room is not over, the kids books are not all packed yet ... I think the carton boxes are too big and I'm concerned for the moving. We are going to move ourselves to cut the cost of the whole ordeal ... I'm afraid big boxes = boxes too heavy = broken backs ...

Tomorrow, wehave a lot of things to do: we need to go to the insurance company to insure the house, to the post office for the change of adress (it's not free here .... ) and I need to go to our building managment office. Here, you have to give a 3 months notice so ours run until january 8 th but we tried to negociate and turn it to a 2 months notice. The manager told us the landlord told them he wanted to rent his appartment after january 14 th So that means we would have had to pay two rents in december Unfortunately for the landlord, like I'm unemployed, we only have to give a one month notice !!! I'm not very happy with the landlord because we've been here for almost five years and we've never been late to pay our rent. See, he wants to take advantage to change some windows ( bathroom, kitchen) and for him, it's great if we pay but are not in the appartment ...

On a happier news, we'll meet the new landlord on monday to check the house and we'll have the K E Y S !!!!!!!!!! And we could start moving some stuffs to the house !!! I'll bring Steb to the house on monday evening because for him it's very abstract. Each time, I pass in front of the house, I cannot believe we're going to leave there very soon !!!

My evening stitching break was really needed even though I felt guilty "wasting" that time.

I cheated on santa

You know I have a weakness for the old guy wearing red all years long (still can't convince Chuy to buy the suit to fulfill my fantasy ... ) but when I saw this little guy I couldn't resist:

It's Lutin de Noel by Tralala. Isn't he cute? How could I resist such a sweet face? I was very lucky as I bought it used and several stitchers wanted it: that day, I was the fastest to respond !!! Yeah to me !!!

I did stitch last night: such a nice change from packing. I never thought I will take so much time packing: am I too slow or have I too much things?

Tuesday already?

Something very funny just happened to me. Every year at christmas time, the firemen go house to house to raise money for their charities and it's always the same guy who come. This time, the guy asked : " Are you new? I haven't seen you before". I told him " I know, you tell me that evey year!" It's been four years that it asks me that !!!

I didn't stitch last night I was tired from packing and I called a friend who didn't feel well. She told me this evening she felt better I called because she didn't feel so lonely. She's afraid the father of her daughter will try to get custody even though he's someone who left her when her daughter was a baby ...

Moving: I feel I'm drowing in a sea of carton boxes and I have the feeling I'm not going fast enough. I can't believe that next week, we'll have the keys and could start bringing boxes. I called the landlord last night and he agreed on giving me the keys on wednesday. Today, we went to buy the stove because in the appartment, it was included. We still need to buy the dishwasher (remember I intend to become a free woman? )

Family: Teachers are on strike on thursday so I'll keep the kids with me. Pierre has only one class in the afternoon so he won't go and I don't expect lots of students to be there because it's only a class to teach them how to organize themselves in their daily work.

Christmas shopping : I searched the internet to find Emma hard to find toy: Barbie and her walking horse. It is sold out everywhere. I tried to call a local toys store and they didn't answer the phone (I tried to call several times and no luck ... I think they decided if people wanted some informations, they had to come to the store. My mom told me she will try a small supermarket close to where I live and guess who is going to be a very happy little girl at christmas time? Yep, my mom got it !!! Who would have thought it will be so close to home? Yet, I still feel, december should be the month to buy gifts because I don't feel any christmas spirit at all but only pressure to buy buy buy before it's too late ... Buying toys on clearance is a great idea and I do it for birthday toys but it's too hard to know in advance what kids wants for christmas. Emma would have never asked for this toy if she hadn't gone to the pony camp this summer.

Edit: Katha, you have until saturday to contact me otherwise I'll draw another name on sunday. With the moving coming up very quickly I want to be able to ship the magazine as soon as possible. Thanks !!!

Have you started you christmas shopping? I did and I feel I had to because some of the toys the kids want were already sold out in some stores (yep, in the middle of november ... ) Steb wants the Playmobil circus and only the circus. I don't know why. With thousand of commercials everyday, you will think he will change his mind everyday but no, he ONLY wants the circus. Now, who can explain me why my kids always want the hottest hard to find toys of the season ? Since Emma got to ride ponies during the summer, she's a little obsessed with horses and want the Barbie with two horses that can REALLY walk Great idea except that I can't find the dran horses I guess I need to go back to Toys R Us and try to order it ... Last year, the pet shops house was a big hit and of course, Emma wanted one ... and got one !!! Here, they started putting the christmas toys in the store in hte middle of october ... Next year, I suggest they skip back to school to focus in christmas right after the summer vacation !!!

I decided to change my background to a more chritsmassy / wintery feel. What do you think?

I made nice progress last night again. It's such a pleasure to stitch something you really like !!!

I got nice mail today: I got the book I told you about some days ago (I'm too talktative to even remember when I talked about it !!! ) My mom offered me the book for my birthday (my only gift) , Amazon delivered it to me and it's wonderful !!! I took some pics to share my joy with you guys !!! Do you see the excitment here?

Have you seen I added a new ticker? Yep, we are moving in like 2 weeks. I found this new ticker: it's from ticker chaos from the UK You can make all sorts of ticker. It's a nice change from Ticker factory ,isn't it?

Moving: it's getting closer than I want to think so I now try to pack everyday something. Yesterday, I decided to pack Emma's toy away but I wan't done when she came back from school so she "discovered" so long lost toys and was very excited to take them out of the box .... Someone doesn't undestand the concept of packing here !!! Today, I'm packing my stash: magazines and leaflets. Do I really have so much stuffs?
