Busy

I have a lot of things to say but don't really have time. First, I want to thank you for all your comments on my robin.

Pierre and Emma left this morning to go on vacation with my parents. They went to visit their cousins (my brother's kid). So now, Chuy and I are in charge to look after my parents' home and pets. Their house is very dark: it's always hard for us to stay there (especially for a stitcher !!! )

I keep working at the robin. I wanted to bring it with me this afternoon, but I brought everything except the fabric that stayed in my scanner Fortunately, I had my " on the go" bag so I worked on Vera the mouse instead !!!

I'm not done yet and if I stay on the internet, I won't finish it today either ... I don't thinkI'm going to stitch late tonight as I fell asleep at 2 in the morning three nights in the row ... I don't know why but I'm exhausted ....

I forget to tell you: I already chose my next project

Summer fun

Ok the weather is not great but when you have bubbles, happiness is in the air

On the stitching front:

On thrusday, I made a lot of progress:

The kids played well together so I had time to stitch a lot.

On friday night, I had a frog for companion so I had to undo a lot of my stitches so you can barely see I made some significant progress.

Tammy did it !!!

I was quietly checking the blogs in my google reader when I saw this on Tammy's blog:

So I tracked down the pattern , thinking it can be a Nora Corbett design (it is), and I found out it comes from this magazine:

Now I have to get it so I'm looking for someone who is willing to buy it for me and ship it first class international. I can pay with Paypal so let me know if someone can do that for me !!! Thanks beforehands

EDIT: as I went down my google reader, I could have added to my title: and Velda too !!! lol

You can't stop me !!! lol

Look:

Chuy is on vacations tomorrow !!!! He's working morning shift but will work only half a day so that means he's going to be on vacations at 9 am !!! He's very happy as he feels very tired.

Today Chuy went to the dentist with the x rays he took last time and the doctor confirmed that he's going to loose his upper front teeth in a couple of years which is very sad because he NEVER had a decay in his whole life!

Quick update.

I'm still enjoying so much my robin. This is how I left him last night:

I'm happy to report that the balcony of my neighbor did remain clean !!! I think he got rid of the dog which is a good thing for everybody

Pierre is now enjoying his summer class! There are only 2 students so it's great. And honestly, it's only from 9 to 12: why would he complain?

Something funny happened at the store today: the cashier asked me if Esteban and Emma were brother and sister. She said they don't look alike at all (Emma is very tanned thanks to her mexican blood and Steb is very white thanks to my polish roots.) It's not the first time people have asked me that though ... Girls love being tanned so I'm happy she got this carnation. I have a very fair skin so I transform into a cooked lobster if I stay in the sun People are even more surprised when I tell them the dad is mexican. For them, it's hard to imagine a mexican kid with blue eyes and strawberry blond hair. The blue eyes don't come from me, Chuy has them ( lucky him )

Happy birthday !!!!!!!!!

Emma is officially 8 years old today We had her party on saturday because the school finished on friday and a lot of the kids were leaving on vacations. Yes, we had a lot of kids but because we have the party in a park, we are not limited by space

Stitching news:

Here is my country home:

I made some progress then got really tired of it AGAIn and decided it was time to start a new one

I progress nicely on that one:

It's a Lanarte kit: Robin by Marjolein Bastin. You know I love both. And it is a small kit so I couldn' t resist. I'm stitching it on 28 count lugana Desert sky by Silkweaver. I chose an hand dye fabric to not stitch the center part of the design and I chose the perfect color. I always find it difficult to know if the fabric I choose will end up right. This time, I'm very happy with my choice.

Have a great day !!!

Back from busyland !!!

Nope, I didn't abandoned you but I was very busy all week long helping Chuy in the pinatas making. It was also the last week of school for the children so I had a lot of things to do. Now vacations have begun. Back to school is on september 1 st for Pierre and september 2nd for Emma and Steb. Pierre is going to summer school this coming week and the last week of august. He's not happy about it but he really needs it ...

Emma celebrated her birthday at the park yesterday and we all had a great time. The weather was great and we were very lucky because the forecast was not on our side. I'm glad those guys are often wrong !!! We had 24 kids, 3 pinatas, 5 cakes, lots of drinks and some parents to help us look after the kids. We always do it at the park because they have swings, slides so the kids entertain themselves very well over there. We only need to make sure they don't escape Emma was literally showered with gifts from her friends: pets shops (very popular here. She even got twice the same set which didn't bother her at all), Hello Kitty stuffs, some clothes, marbles, books, and so on ... Here are some pictures:

It was Esteban's first time hitting a pinata:

The kids waiting on line ( from the shortest to the tallest)

The birthday cake:

All the children waiting for the magic candles to burn again. They all seemed very concentrated :

The most awaited moment for all the kids: the opening of the gifts (the picture is voluntary blurred)

One of Emma favorite's toy: a plastic furry ball:

Windy, I took pictures of the work in progress when we were making the pinatas. I'll make a special post about it.

The nasty disguting neighbor did clean his balcony on saturday (it seems that's the day he chose to clean it) The balcony appeared cleaner than last saturday so I'm hoping he got a letter from the city and got rid of the dog (but he may have just went on vacations ... ) It's funny on your comments that you all think more of the dog than us, poor humans who have to smell the sticky stuff each time we enter the building . By the way, he also have a cat that we can see sometimes on a leash on the balcony ...

Thanks you all for your nice comments about my stitching progress and my new beautiful stash . I really love reading your comments. I'm sorry I couldn't really comments on your blogs all week long.
