The day after easter !

Of course, I wanted to show easter photos but I won't ... Not that I don't want but I downloaded the pictures yesterday on my dad's computer and his computer erased all my pictures from my memory card ... So no pictures to share ...

We spent the day at my mom's house and we paid a visit to my 86 years old grandma. In the morning, we went to buy a bouquet of flowers for my mom and an orchids for my grandma who collects them. See, I'm not very close to my grandma who always prefered her grand sons (I'm the only grand daughter ) When I came back from the US, we used to visit her a little bit. She used to reproach me a lot of things that happened between my mom ( DIL) and her. She even remembered things I told her when I was a teenager. Keep in mind at that time, Pierre was having his chimio treatment so honestly, those stories from the past seemed to me ... old

I think she understood and stopped telling me about the past but I don't feel like going to visit her often (Chuy who witnessed the whole thing understands me) Yesterday, she called in the morning asking us to come over. So we decided to go in the afternoon and bring Esteban's cake so he could blow his candles at his great grandma's house

So we arrived there and brought our white orchid. She said thanks but soon, mentioned she ALREADY had a white orchid. We did try to tell her it was not exactly the same but she didn't buy it Then she asked : "who is going to go and exchange it ? " I couldn't believe it ... Usually people say thank you even though they don't really like it, right? So at 3.30 , we headed back to the flower shop to exchange the orchid ... We tried to be careful not to take a color she had already. And trust me, in a flower shops, they kind of all look the same shade after a while ... We finally found a dark color. We asked the guy if it was not uncommon for people to exchange flowers . He said that he was the first time he was happeneing to him ... Oops ...

Today is a holiday here; it's called the easter's monday. Chuy is not working and he's not working tomorrow either. Emma is sick: she has temperature and is cold ... She won't go to school tomorrow.

Here is my latest progress:

Click to enlarge and see all the white I stitched I'm not done yet: I still have some backstitches to do. And what to stitch next? I don't know yet but I see the future kind of green.

I received a beautiful gift from Barbara !!! I took some pictures but I want to show it in a nice way. I think Picasa has the answer so I hope tomorrow, I'll be able to show you . Barbara, thank you very much !!! I really love it .

Gosh, that's so sad about your grandma. I really don't understand people who are like that - it takes much less energy to be nice than to be nasty - but some people can't seem to help themselves. You were really nice to go and see her; sorry it turned out to be a less-than-pleasant visit.

Your snow family is looking great!!

And thanks for mentioning that you received your unbirthday gift. You've got me very curious as to how you plan to show it.

I did not know my MIL well but she was always kind to everyone - until she had a stroke. One of the effects of a stroke is that people loose inhibitions and blurt out what they're thinking. My mother was the nicest person in the world until about three years ago, and I'm convinced that she must have had one or more small strokes because now she's getting bitchy, too.

Or maybe it's just old people.

Of course, WE will never be that way!

I think our grandmothers must be related! When Mac was in the NICU my grandma wouldn't even come see him.

Your snow family looks fabulous!:)

Snow family looks great. So stitching white is better than stitching green?

Sorry about the flower exchange. Some people are rude like that.

Sorry to hear about your Granny. It's shamefull the way some people act. If it was me, I would have told her to return the flowers her self so she would be sure to get something she liked. HUGS

Your snow family is almost done! WTG! What will you start next? Green, green, green. LOL
