Stash ahead

You may remember I am on a stash diet but like for every diet , there are some missteps ... First, I couldn't resist on this cute Lanarte chinese woman. Wouldn't she look great on a nice Silkweaver fabric?

Then, I didn't resist this used chart of Madame la Fée. I said used but actually, the stitcher didn't stitch it so the key charm and a tiny buttom are still there !!!

And yes, I went back to stitching so I have something to show you. Not too much but it's hard to see any progress.

I think Kathy A. is right: during spring time, it's hard to keep our mojo. I planted some seeds at the begining of april and as you can see, they are growing well ( they are in those small boxes.)
I'm hoping to get a beautiful garden this summer. Unfortunately, we are going backward as the sunny warm weather is gone and winter seems to have decided he was not yet ready to leave us ...

Thanks for reading me.

Progress

I'm still late at reading my blogs on my reader ... Hope I can go back to comment more regularly ...

Sale season has started here so I bought some charts on sale: I especially love the elves from Imaginating and the snowman ( Noel) Click to enlarge to see them better. I'll show more stuffs tomorrow. It's probably my last purchases before my stash diet ( not that I want to be on a diet but the bad economy is making me go on this forced diet ... ) Don't feel bad for me, you know I have some stash to keep me warm this winter ( and the next one ) . But I'll probably feel bad to not be able to buy the new cute adorable design that I love ... C'est la vie ...

My Lanarte: it's such a beautiful piece ! I don't regret giving up on the wreath. That's what stitching should be about: pleasure and fun ! Here is my latest progress on the fruits basket.

Still not finished !!!

Still working hard on my squirrel. I am focussing on the bottom ans still avoiding the 1/2. To answer Dany's question, I don't like stitching on one over two because it doesn't feel the same and the coverage is close to none ( we can see the fabric through and I don't like that.) I also love the sound of the thread going through the fabric and with one thread, I don't get that ... Anyway, as you can see, I'm almost done with the 2/2 so I won't have any more choice ... 1 over 2 or UFO's bin !!!

Of course, my little assistant insisted on being on the picture (he was really missing his brother and sister to ask to be ON the picture )

During the past week, some stash made its way to my mailbox !!!!

First, two Mango's books. I bought those because I am planning on stitching some designs for Emma's bedroom.

And then, I got my JJ's collectibles order that crossed the ocean in only four days. Someone must have thought I needed my stash right away !!! I'm planning on stitching those two pixies for Emma's bedroom. Yes, she does love fairies I ordered those during their 4 th of july sale but the two charts weren't on the site. They told me they will send me the Paypal bill once they will have the order ready to leave. Oh my! Who would have thought the embellishment pack for Pansy will be sooooooooooo expensive Next time, I'll try to find information on the price before placing the order ... Anyway, I'm very happy with JJ's collectibles. By the way, will you believe, I forgot to order one thread for Sweet Pea? : the Caron collection waterwilies 210 ... grrrrrrrrr I didn't see myself placing an order for only one thread so one stitcher who was making an order for herself told me she could order it for me but I chose the cheapest option: the wildflowers. They are not silk but I can't afford this expensive thread right now. I'm not even sure the design uses a lot of this thread ... Do you think someone will notice the difference?

My babies came back from their vacations yesterday and Steb was thrilled to have his sibblings back !!! ( we were too !!! ) I lent them my old camera and here are some of their pictures: Well not much: they went to a zoo so they took thousand of animals pictures and the camera got stuck on the close up setting so most of them were blurred:

Emma and her cousin Aurane:

Emma reading a magazine about Miley Cyrus. Yes, she's a Hannah Montana fan but I'm not going to stitch her Miley Cyrus in cross stitch

Couldn't resist .... Are you going to blame me?

First I saw some pictures on this blog and I had to get it !!! I especially love these two charts from my all time favorite designer: Veronique Enginger!!!!
This strawberry jam chart (don't you love the colors? )
And this birdie chart (of course, I also love the colors !!! ) :
For me who loves realistic designs, it's pure bliss .

My squirrel is here !!! I know I said I'll stitch some ecru colors on 1/1 but I forgot ... oops !
Family news:

I feel I deserve want a break from school / kids activities. Good news: vacations are on thursday for Steb and Emma and on friday for Pierre. (I know! Pierre's school have such a weird schedule ... ) Pierre and Emma are going to go on vacations with my parents for 10 days (they are going to visit my brother and his family.) Then we'll go to Paris, the five of us, at the end of july for 4 days. We got a very good deal to rent a hotel appartment through Chuy's company. I registered Emma to poney camp for a week in august. (those are so expensive here but the company where Chuy work is big and they offer help for poney and sailing summer camp so we took advantage of it !!!) Chuy is going to have whole two months of "vacations" thanks to the bad economy ...

Stash day !

So if you haven't heard it yet, Michael Jackson is dead. Pierre told me some kids cried in his secondary school. For me, it's a little weird to think those kids cried as they didn't grow up with his music like we did ...

Did you know a study about happiness has been conducted since 1936? I like that conclusion: " In the study, those who spent too much alone time ultimately struggled. The happiest subjects in the study were those who sustained meaningful, healthy relationships with friends and family. One can never give enough hugs, say enough "I love you's," and send enough "I miss you's "You can read all about it here.

Sale season has started here (to bring more happiness to the stitchers !!!) so I took advantage to buy some cheap charts and a kit. I bought a chart that represents Madagascar, an island from where my sister in law is from. (yes, my brother and I could have married locals but we chose to marry exotic birds )
I also bought this kit that I always loved. I plan on stitching it without all the lettering. The colors are lovely !!!

A lot of sttichers have been selling their stash lately.

One sold this chart and I fell in love with this little scarecrow guy:
Another one was selling some Madame la fée charts (half price from the original price !!! Usually there are more expensive than that when bought used.) I chose "ballade d'autumn" that you could translate by "fall walks")
and "25 decembre". This design had been released not too long ago. I saw it being stitched on a blog and it looks very nice. Of course, all pictures are clickable!
And my squirrel is getting more and more greens and browns. Yes, I'm surviving all these green ... for now !!!
Tomorrow, my parents, Pierre and Chuy are going to try to sell our used stuffs to that could be called a garage sale/ flea market. Of course, Chuy really misses the american garage sales because it could be so cool to sale stuffs from our garden !!! I'll go there to have lunch with them with the two little ones.

Have a great sunday !!!
