First day of 2009

First picture of 2009. Yes, my kids again The picture is a little blurred but it is so hard to have one where Steb is actually looking at the camera AND smilling ! Pierre doesn't look his best but when you have more than two kids, it's hard to have everybody looking their best on one picture !!!

This is one of the picture I took that will show you how hard it is to take pictures of that boy (no he's not tired: he's just trying to escape the camera ... ) :

His wife could thank me for taking so many pictures of him because a lot of parents would have given up already !!!

The picture was taking at my grand'ma's place today. She's 87 years old and we don't have a special bond ... She's always have a good word to make people confortable like during the lunch: " I take my pictures because I know I won't see you until next year !" Remember: she's the one who made me exchange the orchids last christmas I wonder how many people exchange flowers every year ... Last year, I was one of them By the way, she loved this year orchid ( lucky us !!! BUT we made sure we got one with funky colors !!! )

Our new year eve was pretty quiet: dinner at my mom's, home by 11 pm, put the kids in bed and Chuy started to make lots of phone calls in the US. Thanks to our internet connection, we can call 72 countries for free (of course, Mexico is still not included Who cares to be able to call China if you can't call the country where you have family members ??? ). He called his brother in Fort Worth,TX,his nephews in Seatle, his school friends in California!!! It's funny how we are invited everywhere: we just need to win the lotery !!! Chuy had a lot of fun making these phone calls but like always, he's always the one who calls ... I'm not happy about it and feel bad for him.

PS: we're "watching" the Will Ferrell movie: my man doesn't seem to enjoy it either (but like I told him! Will Ferrell doesn't have any good movies; he was only good in Saturday night live where he played for only three minutes at a time ... and that was good for most people ) My last word for the night spells in 6 letters : B O R I N G !!! Should I hope it is going to be funny at one point?

I'm back !

Not that I went anywhere The kids are on vacations and I have less time to blog I did stitch a little bit though:

The whole piece doesn't fit in the scanner anymore so I took a picture with my camera so you can see better my progress. I still feel a lot of joy stitching this colorful design !!! Still no news of my old tree ... Weird

We had a great day yesterday: Emma spent the night at one of her friend and we went to pick her at 4.30 pm. The mom has a kid's cafe which was closed that day but she used it to celebrate her son fourth birthay. We met some friends and ended up having dinner with one of my them and her son. So we had good food and a relaxing evening. Pierre was soooooo happy as someone lend them a Wii. He had a lot of fun (Pierre's dream is to have a Wii but I find this little electronic device quite expensive ... ... ) At 9.15, we went to pick up chuy at work. If Pierre and Emma fell asleep very fast, Esteban is now scared of helicopters One night (and only one) an helicopter passed above us and reminded him the drill's noise that had scared him last fall .... So now, he's afraid the helicopter is going to come back .... Last night, I have to remind him that it was certainly a baby helicopter who had to go back to his mama and that NOW, the baby helicopter stays with his mama to sleep ... I hope if I remind him every night, he might believe it ...

Now back to house work: I have to change the kids' beddings Not as fun as stitching but more necessary.

No picture today: I stitched just a little bit yesterday because I came back late last night. The progress is too small to show !!! Sorry ! Right now, I'm taking a (short) computer break from cleaning to write this message. My mom took the 3 kids to help me out. I still have to go to Emma's violin class meeting at 6.00 pm ... She didn't pratice much during vacations ... Shttt ...... Don't tell the teacher

Thank you all for asking about Esteban. He's feeling better today. Yesterday, the painters woke him up again by making some noise. So he slept in my arms for another hour. Then he was grumpy for the rest of the day ... I'm glad he's sleeping at my mom today as the painters are making noise again ...

I also want to thank you all for the comments you are leaving on my blog lately. It's really nice to feel the support behind the screen !!! I think I may have given up on the angels without you (especially when I was drowned in the blues ... )

Today is the day for Chuy's family to leave Texas !!! They are going to arrive tomorrow morning to Germany (german time) . I hope everything will go well ...

Back to blue

I'm glad I stitched the flowers because it gave a little boost to go back to the needlepoint! The flowers were stitched very fast but it was a most needed break. As you can see I made a lot of progress on the dress: I did the backstitch on the right, I stitch all the white on the right and I'm now working on the left. I probably stitched 2/3 of her dress. Thanks for your comments on that piece It helps when you feel like giving up ... It's going to look stunning (I think) when I would have stitched the little boy's head There is also a lot of half points on the boy's outfit. If you click on the picture, you will see better the details.

I want to finish it by september 14 th when Chuy's family will come (for 3 days Will you come such a long way for only T H R E E days ? ) I want to give angel kisses to my sister in law so she can give directly to my other sister in law in Texas (I have only one brothers but I have 16 brothers and sisters in law And it's been a while since I counted the numbers of cousins my kids have - we are probably over 24 cousins. I have only 2 cousins I think it's pretty neat for my kids to have family members in 3 differents countries, in 2 continents. )

We have a happy dance here: not the kind the stitchers love but for us, it's a great happy dance !!! Esteban is doing really good in Pottyland He now asks and yesterday, he even did number two in it I LOVE POTTYLAND (remember when I wanted to leave Pottyland? ) My boy is toooooooo cute: I told him this morning: "your new shoes are really nice" and he replied: "thank you!"
