Happy! happy dance!

Sorry for the late update but that's it: I finally finshed it !!! I thought I will be able to post a picture yesterday but I didn't stitch on it. I finished all the background on friday and I don't know why I waited to stitch the title of the book. But there it is: completed after 2 months.

It will probably look much better with natural light.

Well, ready for my next project. I want to use my solo but the fabric size is 16 X 25 ( 40 X 63 cm) and the design I want to stitch on is 12 X 12 (30 X 30 cm) I wonder if it will be wide enough and if I won't waste too much of the lenght ... It is my first solo so I don't want to mess with it ... I know I'm a little too excited about that solo: I'd better go to bed to catch some sleep. I'm also excited about starting a new project. It's funny how we barely you look back on those old UFO

And for those who are still interested about our adventures in potty land: I have something official to say: I want to leave potty land ! Gosh, that boy doesn't care about peeing in in his underwear ... Well, tomorrow it will be one week since we have started the whole fun

Hand

Yep, santa has a hand. I didn't stitch last night. I just stitched during Esteban's nap. I added backstitches where it was possible. Now, I'm back with the red colors which I really enjoy. We'll see tomorrow if I am done with red on the left ...

Today, I'm planning on doing more cleaning. I have too many papers from the different schools where I worked during the school year. I need to classify all of them and recycle the duplicate. I don't really like those kind of cleaning but it is necessary as papers tend to take a lot of space in our small appartment. I also take advantage because Pierre and Emma are spending the week end with their grand parents.

Rainy day

Rain is back - again ... It's becoming an habits ...Anyway, I stitched yesterday and the hat looks more like a Christmas hat now. Mostly thanks to the backstitch and the red around it. Santa looks soooooooo good. Actually the colors are better in my living room than on my computer. Yesterday I had to frog one color on the hat because I chose a light yellow instead of a light beige How did it happen? I don't know? I think sometimes it is not a good idea to do two things at the same time: watching TV and stitching.

Talking about TV, I missed last night the last minutes of Desesperate housewives because I switched channels during the commercial break Next time, I'll watch the commercials ...

Another strange thing about blogger: if I have only one comment, like yesterday, it doesn't show ... so all day long yesterday, I didn't see the comment but it did appear this morning. Weird ...

Do you see a bear ?

I stitched my bear again!!! I need to do the backstitch around the dress and the bear. Time is so long at my mom's house that I stitch a lot. Esteban takes long nap there: 3 hours so it is three hours of stitching.

Thanks for your comments! I also see my blog as a diary for my progress. But sometimes when you are tired , you think : do someone really care if I don't post my new progress today? There are plenty of blogs I check daily and I'm disappointed when I don't see a new post. I love seeing people new progress.I am a tru cross stitch addict.

I was supposed to show you my new stash today but I talk on the phone with the mother of twins who are at the same school of my kids ... until 1.25 am !!! It's funny because she called because her kids forgot their jackets at Emma's party and then we started talking about different stuffs: school, life, etc... When I used to see her at school, I never thought we could talk like that (she probably thought the same about me !!!) So if you don't see my new kit it's because of her but ar least you saw my new progress and the new bear ;)

Long day ...

Well, I didn't think to blog today then I saw that 16 persons already came to my blog today. so I figure out some people may care actually about my progress (about me also??? )




You won't believe it but I had stitched the bear's head and I had to frog it all because I miscounted. I hate that... you look at what you stitched and then , you realized you made a mistake. It looked like a real bear ... Anyway, cross stitch is about patience, right?

Chuy didn't go to work today. He's sick. It may be a stomach bug. We'll see how he is tomorrow...

Good news about the weather: it should be better on friday , even hot!!! Could it be true? Will we really wear summer clothes?

I really appreciate the few comments I get. I don't know in the long haul if we can still blog without getting comments? I like showing my progress and I'm pretty talktative but I still need to know some people do come... I'm just a human being I guess...

Santa has 2 legs

I didn't stitch last night so this is my progress from wednesday. I need to work on the little girl dress now. I am still busy even though Pierre and Emma are in vacation.

Tomorrow we celebrate Emma's birthday at the park... So keep your fingers crossed as the weather is still uncertain !!! Rain ... No rain? There is a mother who is stressing out because she thinks she won't be on time to pick up her kids at 5.00pm. I told her to not worry, that I won't let them alone at the park. Then, a friend warn me that she is used to pick them up much later than she says (like 7 pm Well, we'll see but I hope it won't happen .... I don't want to have to stay at the park until very late, just for her kids ....

Chuy is still making the pinata and like always, he's late. He always keep everything for the last moment so .......... here he is working on the pinata and like last year, he's going to finish late to have it ready for saturday afternoon ... One is a Diddl's face (his first: he made a Nemo last yeat and a pineapple: for lack of time) The second should be a very traditional design: a star ! I have to admit that his Nemo was great and it was sad to have it broken chuy is very talented but he never starts when he should ...

I did some green last night and more red. Today, I got my World of cross stitching (issue 127) Well, there is nothing I could stitch from that issue. When I had stopped my subscription, I checked blogs and wanted so much to stitch patterns from those missed issues. But since I got my new subscription, there is maybe only 2 or 3 patterns I really want to stitch ... what a pain ....

Today, the teacher I substitute for surprised the kids with a little snack. And she surprised ME with with a flower plant !!! What a great lady because I only do my job after all ;-) There were something very funny on the flower tag: "for decoration only - do not consume" ! I'm glad it is written in 4 languages : like that, we are sure no french, english , german or dutch people are going to die after eating a flower leaf !!!

a knee, right? Imagine this good old Santa with the book on his legs. Do you picture it? June, do you see it? I'm happy with my afternoon stitching yesterday. I did a great progress. Pierre and Emma went to visit the army camp with my parents. Emma got a poney ride. She was very happy. We stayed home because the weather was bad and Esteban was coughing a little bit.

Last night I prepared Emma's invitation for her birthday party. We are going to do a party at the park , like last year actually. Chuy should make at least 2 pinatas or maybe 3. I'd like one for the parents. We always try to associate the parents at that party: like a end of the school year party. She wants to invite her teacher's daughter. That little girl went to Emma's class and she became the class "little star". I don't know though how the teacher will feel about bringing her girl to the party knowing she going to meet a lot of parents !!! We'll see if she call ...

The weather is getting worse: we now feel like at the begining of fall: rain, wind and grey sky ! It is hard to believe it's june 26 th ..........

Over

Last night show at school was great !!! The parents loved it, the kids were happy: everything went fine !!! They did great for the sign language. I came back home at 10.30 pm so I was not able to stitch. I did progress a lot on monday night so here is a new picture:

I finally did all the green! Great! I really hate this colour. I even started a liitle of red, just for the pleasure of changing colours. I'm fin with a lot of red so I know now I'm going to really enjoy stitching that piece (except if the blended colours are complicated and the half point boring... )

Boring

Yes ,green is very boring to me but I don't give up. I'm just slow because I have a lot of work for school right now as it is almost the end of the year ... so that also means I have less time to stitch but vacations are coming !!! YEAH ! July 3 rd is the date !!! After that I'm not sure I'll stitch another Dimensions as the charts are not as easy to read as some other brands ...

Kids at school are learning very fast the sign language on the song so it's going to look nice next week on the stage. We pratice twice a day.

Book

Green, green, green !!! I'm working on the book which has two shades of green so it is not very exciting but I did finished one side of the book already. At least, I'm happy with the fabric I chose: 32 count white lugana. We can't see the fabric through the threads and I love that! That's why 32 ct is my favorite count !!! I can't believe how this project is small. That's the smallest project I ever done !!!

I'm weak ...

Here is my birdhouse: the feather is finished and I have started one egg under the main birdhouse. I should have stitched the nest under the bouquet but I didn't feel like stitching a nest. Maybe, it is a sign I'm getting a little bored with that project...

Well ... what you see is really what you think it is !!! I'm weak but you see, I've worked a lot on the birdhouse so I thought I just deserve a little reward to myself ! :-D I could indulge on ice cream but it wouldn't be good for my hips , right? And it doesn't mean I'm going to give up on my Lanarte. It stays my focus piece ;-) Anyway, the Lanarte charts are much easier to stitch than the Dimensions. I'm stitching my Christmas stories on a white 32 count lugana fabric. So I don't know if I could use 3 to 4 threads as they want us to ...
