Newest progress

This is how far I went and how far I can go right now. I stitched all the DMC and all the Kreinik I had.

You can see some gaps in the umbrella: that's all the missing Kreinik ...
All the beading is left as well. Some stitchers told me I have to wash my fabric BEFORE beading: do you all agree with that? Yes, I'm very nervous with the whole beading thing ... I never did it and I want to do it right !!! I don't know why I'm putting so much pression on me ... Maybe because both Sweet Pea and Pansy are beautiful and I want to do the right thing

I wash after I bead, and nothing bad has ever happened to any of my stitching.

What lovely stitching - she is beautiful. Never used beads before so can't help I'm afraid.

Unless your fabric is really dirty I see no reason to wash it. Just give it a good press from the back.
If you do wash, I have done it after beading and nothing has happened.

Do you need some Kreinik to finish? I have lots that I probably won't use. You stitched this piece so fast, I can't believe it needs washing. I can't remember the last time I washed something......decades ago! I started a blog on Blogger in addition to my Multiply....check it out.

GORGEOUS!!! Congratulations on how far you've come! I have never beaded on a large project, so I don't have any words of wisdom to share. Good luck!!

She is stunning. I think it does need the beading done. Otherwise it will nag at you that you didn't do it.

if the fabric is not dirty,i dont wash it. some girl wash the fabric before beading, because some beads lose their color when wet, they can even dye the fabric.

She's looking gorgeosu. I can't wait to see the beads on her.

Here's a suggestion. Bead a little on scrap fabric, then wash it. If there's no trouble with all your bead types and colors, then do as you wish. Just one beady-eyed opinion.

Lovely! I do not wash my work unless it's really dirty as I am always afraid of bleeding threads.

Hola!
a no ser que el trabajo esté sucio, yo nunca lo lavo, y cuando lo he hecho lo he mandado al tinte. En cuanto a las perlitas, cuando las he usado, no he tenido que lavar la labor, así que no puedo ayudarte! lo siento!

I don't wash my piece unless it is dirty and then only after it is all done. You will be handling it again and then it could get dirty again. Don't be afraid to wash the beading it will not hurt it. Just lay it flat in some clean water with delicate soap..I use Orvis. let it sit over night!!!!do not rub if you can help it!
It looks wonderful good luck!!!!

You have a nice chart Chiloe. So beautiful stitched. I would like to try stitching with beads after I finished my recent projects. :)

Hi Chiloe

I got your message through Picassa and emailed you a couple of days ago to your Yahoo address (only one I could find in my address book). Hope you're ok!

Wow she's looking beautiful. It's a long time since I read any of the blogs and I didn't even know you were stitching her. She really is gorgeous!

Best wishes

Karen

You've come a long way since your last post! It's too bad you ran out of Kreinik :o(

I wouldn't think that washing after you bead would make a difference. It 'might' loosen the beads depending what you use to attach them with and how hot your water is, if you will use hot water.

I stitched DMC fairies, bead them and wash - like I always do at the end to refresh fabric after few weeks of stitching. And???? It might be sth strange, but my gold beads after washing become ...silver. I will never, ever wash after beading. That is my own expierience.

I forgot to add that your fairy is amazing :)
