Happy 6 months anniversary to my blog !!!

Yes, my blog was created in january 24 th 2007 ! I've been blogging for 6 months now. What is funny is that I always wanted to do this kind of daily update on my progress. Even before I knew blog existed, I always wanted to create a personal page that will work like a diary. And here we are 6 months later. I still like to show my daily progress and I hope people do stop by and appreciate the blog.

So I'm sure you are all impatient to know what's new in potty land ! Well day one was a DISASTER ! He peed 12 times in his underwears ! Yes, you read well : 12 times ! When he was started to pee, he would stop right away and wouldn't do anything in the potty so of course, 10 minutes later, he would urinate AGAIN ! and so on all day ... By the afternoon, I was out of boys underwears and I made him wear his sister's underwears It was that or going back to diapers. I don't have a dryer and yesterday it rained all day long ... Well, before to go to bed, I sat him on the potty and here it was:his first pee in the potty!!! Felt like we won the championish Ok, ok, I admit it: I got that one by sitting him in front of the TV but I really wanted him to do at least one in there

Now, back to this old santa (at least him, he got potty trained a long time ago ) I finished the left part of the design. You can't really tell but I made a mistake in that part: I don't know where: I couldn't find it. Now, I need to stitch the armchair by going either to the left or the right. The right part seems easier. You will know tomorrow what I decided

I didn't stitch yesterday afternoon because I went shopping !!! One of my favorite discount store had a sale with crafts items. It's a store that burned down and they were selling everything 50 % original price. I got buttoms from Memory mates (some look like an electric garland - I may need those for a Stoney creek project!) I got craft csissors (I never noticed before how "S" were needed in that word ...) , 9 stencils (very useful to work with small children) , Texture plates (it's an embossing system) and the small tip stylus to use on it from Fiskars. I also go a punch to make some edges and I found 2 sets of chime sticks !!! I'm very happy with what I got!!!

Back to stitching

The big adventure ..........

of potty training has started! We'll see where this journey will take us. For now, he doesn't want to go ON the potty We'll see in a week if things are better ...

I finished Santa's arm but I still need to stitch the armchair on the left. I didn't stitch a lot yesterday so the progress is slow. I think it will done by tonight (or this afternoon) as it's raining AGAIN I am tired of having one good day, one bad day ... San, I'll try to have this piece professionally framed ... Well, of course, it depends on the price they will ask for as I never had any framed. I wish I know how to frame myself but the cross stitch pieces I choose are always so big. This is my first small one . If it is too expensive, I'll try to frame it myself.

Last time, I went around some french blogs and I was surprised to read in some: "this blog is closed for summer". Life really seems to stop in this country in summer: if you call the administration, it is sometimes hard to get any information. They answer you "sorry, the person in charge of this file is in vacations: call back in september" Yes, but I need this information NOW ! Well, don't worry, I won't close for summer

Hand

Yep, santa has a hand. I didn't stitch last night. I just stitched during Esteban's nap. I added backstitches where it was possible. Now, I'm back with the red colors which I really enjoy. We'll see tomorrow if I am done with red on the left ...

Today, I'm planning on doing more cleaning. I have too many papers from the different schools where I worked during the school year. I need to classify all of them and recycle the duplicate. I don't really like those kind of cleaning but it is necessary as papers tend to take a lot of space in our small appartment. I also take advantage because Pierre and Emma are spending the week end with their grand parents.

Beautiful

That's really what I think about my cross stitch. The colors are so bright , so christmas. It even looks much better than the picture on the kit. If you like that design, don't hesitate to buy it. You won't be disappointed As you can see, I stitched a little more on the hat, did some backstitch to bring life to the design. And I started to work on Santa's shoulder and hand. Behind Santa, there is his armchair and the background. I'll keep those for the end. I'm going down on the left now : his hand, arm and a little bit of the armchair. Then I'll take care of what is left. I'm wondering if I haven't done 70% of the pattern now. By the way, how people who put the % on their blog know for sure? Do they use math or do they do like me? (I'm just guessing... )

Pierre and Emma spent the night at their grand parents' house. They enjoy so much going there. I guess they especially enjoy the spoiling It's also amazing to see how Esteban is different when his brother and sister are not around: he talks more, is calmer.

This morning we went to get some groceries. I'd like to eat healthier but I have a major problem : I've always been a picky eater and still am. So ladies, if your kids are picky eaters, there are a lot of chances, they'll stay that way. Actually some tastes feel really strong in my mouth: onion, alcohol (I never drink any - it feels too sour) Pierre is the same way: since he's a baby, there are a lot of things he cannot eat. Anyway, I have trouble eating fruits and vegetables (everything that is good for us...) My goal is to start by eating more summer fruits: peaches, cherries, apricots, etc... We'll see if I succeed ...

If you have kids, you will love this website Hugo l'escargot It has plenty of coloring pages with the kids favorite characters, including the new Harry Potter in movie. I especially like the quality of the drawings. ENJOY !

Rainy day

Rain is back - again ... It's becoming an habits ...Anyway, I stitched yesterday and the hat looks more like a Christmas hat now. Mostly thanks to the backstitch and the red around it. Santa looks soooooooo good. Actually the colors are better in my living room than on my computer. Yesterday I had to frog one color on the hat because I chose a light yellow instead of a light beige How did it happen? I don't know? I think sometimes it is not a good idea to do two things at the same time: watching TV and stitching.

Talking about TV, I missed last night the last minutes of Desesperate housewives because I switched channels during the commercial break Next time, I'll watch the commercials ...

Another strange thing about blogger: if I have only one comment, like yesterday, it doesn't show ... so all day long yesterday, I didn't see the comment but it did appear this morning. Weird ...

Do you see a progress?

Like the progress is mostly on the hat, I'm not sure you're going to see a lot of things ... But I show it to you anyway. I even tried to do the backstitch on the reading glasses but I made amistake: I used one metallic thread instead of two. I'll have to undo it ... Today, I'm planning on finishing the hat and start the left side.

Santa has almost a face

Santa starts to look pretty good, right? His beard is almost finished and his face too. I did the backstitch on his face last night because I wanted you can see a real face. Chuy says the whole picture looks very tender. I agree with that. Here is the new picture:

Pierre and Emma arrived fine yesterday. They were so tired they fell asleep before Chuy came back from work. They had a great time with their cousins and Pierre cried last night because he was already missing his two cousins. It's surprising how he's becoming more and more sentimental.

This morning, the routing is back... I cleaned a little bit my bedroom closet. I don't like to clean in the afternoon so I'm going to stitch and we'll see is santa's face is finished by tomorrow !!!

One reason people should leave comments on blogs is that we can discover new blogs. Edda left a comment yesterday so I went to visit her blog http://icelandmom.wordpress.com/ (I still don't know how to do direct link ) and she's stitching really nice projects. Now that's a blog I'm going to visit often. If someone wants to give me their blogs links, I'll be happy to visit new blogs !!!Thanks !!! (I'm sure my wish list will grow bigger and bigger but I'm okay with that. )

Do you see a beard?

I didn't stitch a lot yesterday but here is my progress: Santa has his beard and I also did all the backstitch on the little girl head (which took forever ...) I'm working on Santa's head now then I'll continue on the left part of the design from the bottom to the top because it starts to look empty on the left. So far, I'm happy with the result. We'll see is Santa has his face completed tonight.




Is summer over? This morning, the rain is back ... already, should I say? Pierre and Emma are coming back from their vacations !!! Yeah !!! Esteban is going very happy to see them again !!!

The little girl !!!!

YEP ! She has a face. Actually, on saturday night I had stitched the top of her hair but I prefered to wait to show you the whole face. Well, the hair backstitch is not done, I only did the eyes because a face without eyes is a little bit blank ... So what do you think? I like the realistic look of that picture. After the little girl, I'll go up to stitch Santa's face!!!

Will you believe I found a (simple) way to get back all the features I had before on blogger: colors, pictures, fonts, etc... I just had to click on the "compose" button on the upper right ... When I couldn't write a tittle, it went to "modify the html code". I didn't realize it had changed then today, I just tried to click on the other button to see what will happen. And THE miracle happened : everything is back to normal !!! Yeah !!!!

Little grey cat: after I finished my ABC book by Lanarte, I will sell the chart, the thread that is left and the original fabric (I took an ivory lugana 32 count instead )

My mom called me yesterday to tell me how disappointed she is with her stay at my brother's. She said he barely talks to them. When my brother talks to his wife, they speak very low like if they are afraid my parents could hear. My mom feels really down and she said she won't go back next year. My brother has always been different. He actually changed when he turned 12. It's very sad because my mom did a lot of things for him. They paid for his school when he decided to become an engineer. Even my sister in law is weird. For example, she takes care of everything for her family and my brother is supposed to be in charge of his family. So that means, she will never buy a gift for my kids' birthday and like my brother never remember their birthdays, they don't get a gift... This time, Emma got something because she is there with my parents. Of course, I always buy something but I may stop because I think it is not fair for Pierre and Esteban.

Today the weather is nice so we're going to have a barbecue !!!

I made more progress today. Am I a stitching machine? As you guessed, Steb slept 3 hours today but what is even nicer is that I was able to stitch outside as we got a hot weather !!! Well, let's not get too happy: they said it should rain tomorrow No comments...Anyway, here is the picture:



I stitched for about 3 hours and the teddy bear backstitching is not even finished... There are so many changes of colours. But it's worth it. I can't wait (or work) to see the little girl's head. Do you think her hand does look like a real hand?

The kit about the book and the bunnies is the ABC book from Lanarte. You should check on Sew and so to see if it is still available. I haven't finished it yet. I still have the border to stitch. It's often like that with me: I stitch everything fast and then, I give up when there is a border....

Blogger is still not working well and I don't know anything about html codes. So I take old messages and I try to figure out what code is for the colours, which one is for the text to be aligned, etc... I may learn html code after all Well, let's see if it works !

Old stash

I'd like to show you one of my favorite kit. It's a height chart from Royal Paris with Winnie the Pooh (again! You are going to think I'm a big fan of the yellow bear but not really. I just love this design and I bought it. It was only 22 Euros so it helps !!! I scanned some kits today because I wanted to update my Bellapix gallery but they have been doing maintenance for a while. So I updated my webshots gallery :-) Here is the link : The stash is all new. I prefer the Bellapix albums because you just have to click on the pictures to see them or you can choose a slideshow. I still have more stash to scan but Esteban dosesn't let me do a lot of things. I scanned those while reading him books lol .


I will change the fabric and I have already bought a 32 count white lugana for that one. Of course I will have to figure out how to move the numbers because it is not the same fabric count.

New stash

Here is the new stash I couldn't show you last night. It's a new kit from Royal Paris (like the Winnie and Lumpy I finished in febuary): the triplets and the numbers (les triplés et les chiffres). You going to tell me I chose agin a big design as the finished size is 35 X 45 cm. (14 X 18 inches) It is one of this easy to make design because it is like if you are stitching several small designs. Maybe my next project??? Here is a big picture: So what do you think?
