Some sunshine in my mailbox

Look at what my mailbox delivered yesterday:

A mysterious blue gift. Is it an elephant in there?

Nope, something lighter:

A floss fob tag made by the sweetest person on earth: Barbara . I'm already the lucky recipient of another hand made gift won in one of Barbara's giveaway. She made that one for my birthday; isn't it sweet and thoughful? Thank you Barbara: I didn't have one yet and I feel joyous today thanks to you !!! It means a lot to me that you took time from your busy life to stitch something for me.

Today, we did all we had planned yesterday. First the agency, then the insurance company where we were attended by a very nice, smiling employee who will bright the day of the grumpiest person on earth. Then we headed to the post office where smiles are spare ... We tried to find more carton boxes (smaller sizes ) but we were not lucky ...

I forgot to mention that I took advantage to be at the post office to ship Katha magazine this morning !!! Watch your mailbox Katha and please, let me know when it arrive !!!

I did take my favorite break last night and stitched my beautiful fuchsia. I don't know why but my fabric starts to get dirty where the fabric was folded ... It bothers me because I'm afraid the colors may bleed when I'll wash it. I don't know why it's happening. I always wash my hands before stitching. Maybe it's because the fabric was folded? ( I did try to iron before stitching on it but the marks stayed ... ) Maybe it's my scanner? But that part is never directly in the scanner. Morever, the huge piece of fabric always stays on my armchair where nobody can reach it ... It's a real bother ...
I'm sorry I don't really have to stop by your blogs lately: I do try to read them though.

Have a great week end !!!

That floss fob is adorable! Great progress on the flower. Are you folding it with the back side facing out? If not maybe that would help. I don't know though.

What a beautiful gift you received from Barbara, you lucky lady! Your fuschia is looking gorgeous! I'm not sure what to suggest about your fabric. I don't think that the fabric being folded would make it dirty. Have you tried sponging it a little with a damp cloth to see if it comes out? You could do with finding out before you stitch too much more. I hope you manage to solve it.

Congratulations on your little present! You deserve a bit of spoiling!

I second Little Cats suggestion of sponge cleaning the spot before you go too much further with the stitching.

Worst accident I ever had with my stitching was spilling a cup of tea on the fabric. The stain didn't come out of the Aida but luckily you couldn't see it once I stitched over it. :)

I've also noticed that folds in the fabric tend to mysteriously attract grime. Good luck with the cleaning - I suspect Karen's idea is the saftest, given the unpredictability of reds.

I'm so glad the floss fob got there safely and that you like it. I was beginning to worry it wouldn't arrive till AFTER your move!

Good luck this weekend!!!

I'm happy to see that you had some mail to make you smile :o)

Do you use Q-Snaps or do you stitch in hand? Lmk okay.

Don't worry about catching up. I'm going to be in the same position soon but I'm sure everyone knows we're out there and will get back into the grove as soon as we can ;o)

Chiloe, if I were you I would just wait how mine turns out after I wash the beach house. If it bleeds badly, I would not wash it if I were you :-)

I love the colors of the flower, so pretty!

I use a Q-snap and I made myself Q-snap cover out of my daighters old PJ bottoms. It surrounds the adges and my hands don't touch the fabric as I sew. Super easy to make.

Best solution I have.
