Emma's birthday !!!

No, I didn't disappear suddendly from the blogging world. We were very busy preparing Emma's birthday (understand making pinatas). Chuy was supposed to start the pinata making on june 1 st but obviously he was " a little" late because he only started them last monday .... So all week long, he was gluing while I was cutting yards and yards of crepe papers ...

Anyway, here are some pictures of the party:

First, the kids played a game so they could all be together.
Then, the fun begun: breaking pinatas !!! We had three this year again: a ice cream cone, a soccer ball and a Hello Kitty. I even thought of taking a short film to show the fun.
The kids really enjoyed the Hello Kitty pinata:
Someone was wearing his colors on the fourth of july:
But this year, the pinatas were too thick and some grown up help was needed to manage to break them (see the movie below):
Then, it was time to blow some candles and I snapped this sweet picture of my two youngest:
Emma was very happy with all her gifts (Hello Kitty and the little Pet Shop characters are always a big hit with her!!!) :
And for those who only love cross stitch, here is a picture of my latest progress (tuesday niht I guess ...). I'm stitching the leaves and I have all the boring background to stitch (you know how it goes: 1/2 ) ...
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a sweet comment. I always treasure them !!!

I love all the pinatas. Is it a tradition to hit pinatas during birthdays in France? It actually reminds me of our Danish Fastelavn (Halloween) and we put goodies in barrels. The kids have to hit the barrels till the goodies fall out.

I love your wip. As I always said, it looks much lovlier than the picture itself.

I'm a little late but Happy Birthday to Emma!
Squirrel looks lovely. Maybe you find something nice on tv and get all the backround stitched while watching. :)
