Bad? Who's bad?

Well, maybe me because I started BOoo! by Madame la fée last night ... I know, I know, I can even hear you: I should pick up my needle and work on the Fuchsias before It ends up as an UFO ... but I still don't have any desire to touch it ... Bad, bad girl but what fun it was to pick up the fabric for BOoo! First, I had to dig into my fabrics boxes I have so many beautiful colors waiting for me !!! I had the list of suggestions you gave me the other day and I checked what colors I had. I finally picked a blend of peach/beige/light pink solo by Silkweaver. It's not too dark so the design is not drowned by the dark colors. I really think it's going to look really nice. I find it hard to choose a hand dye fabric but at the end, it always bring a little something to the piece. So here is my first pic (you may have a little idea of the fabric color) :

By the way, do you know what I could do to get rid of the wrinkles on my fabric? Do you iron your fabric before stitching on it or do you wait until it's finished and washed?

Yesterday, I got my order from JJ's collectibles: the threads I needed for BOoo and some other to complete my DMC threads (I tried to check all my missing numbers thanks to the DMC shopper's checklist and Emma's help !!!) Well, will you believe that I forgot to order one floss and I needed it for BOoo? So, this morning, I had to go to the store to get my missing floss and I paid 1.20 Euro for one (they even raised the price as it was €1.10 the last time I bought one ...) which is $1.50 for one single little floss ... ( imagine paying $15 for 10 threads ... make you think about changing your hobby, right? ) I should have doubled check my order but I placed it late at night (I almost forgot they had their superball sale ... ) I'll try to check my floss stash in july and see what I need for some future projects. They also have a 4 th of july sale. )
Thanks for the nice compliments for my Santa finished: I see a lot of you want to be on his list !!! Do I deserve another Will Ferrell dvd for starting a new project?

Love the color of the fabric for Boo. Nice thread bag you got there. Been there, done that, seems I can only forget the one color I need the most when ordering or even going to the store. I get back home and start really cussing myself. LOL

Happy Wednesday!

Boo is going to be SOOOO cute! I can't wait to see your progress. The fuschias will wait patiently-sometimes you just have to change it up and give in to a new start! I happen to iron my fabby prior to stitching and I never wash it. I am so particular about my needlework (which is why I dont' get alot done, lol), so it is never necessary to wash. :p

Nobody ever deserves a Will Ferrell DVD, ever.

You are off to a great start. I iron my fabric on a high steam setting before starting to get the creases out, that seems to do the trick.

Boo is off to a great start. Maybe you could alternate the stitching, one day on Boo, one day on the dreaded fuchsias?

Ah well, one day you will come across this WIP/UFO and decide you will finish it up. And you will.

Great new start! I usually wash my fabric with a bit of laundry detergent in warm water, rinse well and iron it dry. I stitch 'in hand' so I really don't like creases and I especially want to be sure the color doesn't run before I start stitching!

Your Santa piece is gorgeous!! The colours are so nice and muted for a Christmas piece.

You`ve really added to your floss collection lately... good for you! Wow... that`s quite a price to pay for a skein of floss... no wonder you try to order it online.

I like the BOoo. :)
I seem to mix my thread orders every time. I either have two skeins of the colour when I only need one or I forget to order one or two colours. Once I mixed up my old and new shopping lists before adding the threads for the new project and ended up with 10 yellows I already had and missed many that I actually needed. Had to make another order of course. :D

I LOVE that fabric for BOO. It's going to be great fun to watch it grow! (And I didn't notice any green?)

My mom always asks for wish lists for birthdays, and if you don't give her one, no telling what you'll get. After a couple of years in a row of receiving clothing that I would never wear in a zillion years I decided it was time to give her the list to save her from wasting her money. Year before last I asked for the floss to do one of the BAPs I'd purchased and was thrilled to receive many, many skeins. The next day, though, I panicked because I couldn't find the chart (which is more like a book with dozens of pages). After considerable searching, I finally found it. Already in a zippered project pouch with fabric and - gulp - a great deal of floss. I totally forgot that I had stocked up on a lot of floss during one of Michaels' sales. Shhh... don't tell Mom.

I knew you would start something new!!!! LOL! Very cute though :o)

That's always the way though. Just when you think you have all the floss you need, there's that ONE color that isn't there. I can't imagine paying $1.50 per skein though :oS
