Progress

Here is an update on my autumn harvest : As you can see there is a little difference between the previous post and today's pic. I'm having so much fun stitching it: colors are great and from far, it does look like a real painting. BUT I am avoiding the dark colors like the ones from the basket in the middle.

At one point, I even avoided stitching what look like a watermelon and my stitching looked like that:

Yes , someone was avoiding the dull colors again !!!

Do designers hate us?

Well, not us personally but our bank account for sure !!! So I was nicely and quietly checking the internet ( as I often do) , browsing some cross stitch sites ( just to have a look !!!! ) , ended up on the new releases page ( a girl has to stay current on the newest releases, right? ) and saw THAT:

The new Dimensions Christmas collection !!!! And here I was in love ... again !!! I just love those birdies . They are so perfect ! So here they are on my wish list. I'm weak , I'm very weak ... Oh well, I am just a stitcher ... Sigh .........

But wait! ( yes, it would be too easy if there will be be only one ! ) They also got another cute one ( because one is not enough of course !!! ) You know I have a secret crush on Santa ( and no, I haven't started therapy yet ... ) and this gold petite kit will join my stash one day !!!

You may also like that stocking ( I, I stitched their gold petite with the same design and I really enjoy it)

And what about this sleigh? Yes, I it too !!! I'm telling you : designers want us to go bankrupt !!! If you want to see them all, got to ABC stitch and let me know if you can resist !!!

Should I brag more about my autumn harvest? You're going to be very tired soon because it's such a pleasure to stitch that one: the colors are amazing, I'm having so much fun stitching reds, oranges, or yellows . Chuy even told me: you must really enjoy that one a lot because you are so quiet at night !!!

Snow day !!!!

Winter is here !!! We've been cold for some days now and I was not ready for it but the snow fell anyway !!! The kids were over the moon and ready very early to go outside to play in the snow. I have to admit I love to look at the snow but likemany people I hate driving ON the snow !!! ( No, I don't drive a convertible but the idea would be nice except in winter of course !!! )

Chuy took the kids to the park yesterday to have some snow fun and he brought those pictures to me. I still don't have snow boots and was stuck at home with my stitching ... Poor me !!!

The little hills in the wooded area are wonderful to slide.

Chuy doesn't know anything about camera settings and let it set on the beauty shot so here is my princess in a close up.

Because I don't when the roads are covered with snow, a little cutie got to spend the day with his best friend today , aka: ME ! Lucky him !!! He can't resist snow ( he's been asking for snow since december actually ) so when Emma and Pierre were at school ( they went there walking) , he went outside to have more fun before it melt.

Like I had a free sunday afternoon, I made lots of progress in my autumn harvest. Honestly, I can't put it down and may end up neglecting my frontier in Pioneer trail ( I love that game ) I'm the kind of stitchers who is driven by the colors she uses. Also the Lanarte charts are so easy to read , it's a pleasure to grab my working copy and and stitch , stich the day away ...

First finish of 2012

YES! I finished my stockings !!! At last should I add !!! I was really getting of the last stocking : you know the one I kept for the end, the one that has lots of green in it ... And to make it worse, those green were not even nice green !!!

So I stitched it on a 28 ct opalescent white fabric ( for the Christmas feeling !!! ) . I stitched it from november 27 th 2011 to january 31 st 2012.

I like it but I'm glad I'm done ! Did I choose a new project? You bet ! I can't stay without stitching for a long time. I had planned on buying the newest Lanarte ( the summer bouquet ! The one I fell in love with) but they are not released yet and it feels like a torture ! So I dug into my stash and found that Marjolein Bastin kit. It looks like a little bit like the summer fruit I stitched in 2010. I had so much fun stitching my summer basket. Check the picture below: autumn harvest.

The colors are really beautiful and listen to that : only 3 green !!! Yes, only 3 green !!! Isn't it amazing? I couldn't start it right away as I got a bad surprise when I opened the kit: there was a problem in the middle of the fabric. A thick line like a fabric scar and I couldn't use that nice fabric ( an antique white Monaco) . I contacted Janlynn and they should send me a replacement fabric but still, I had set my mind on this kit and didn't feel like choose another one. I'm lucky I had a Monaco fabric in my stash so I cut one piece to match the one I couldn't use anymore and on thursday, I was ready to start. After a few stitches, I realize I did make the right choice !!! I'm sure at the end, it's going to look like my summer fruit that really look like a painting! Lanarte do great job at charting Marjolein Bastin's art .
